What will happen if mosquitoes become extinct?Have you ever thought of it? As I had nothing else to think about I thought of it.When we think about mosquitoes, the first thing that comes to our mind is the diseases caused by them like malaria, dengue etc. I told my friend about this and he told stupidly that these diseases helps to decrease the human population explosion rate?Is that so?How do they help maintain ecological balance? Just imagine a world without mosquitoes?I'M JUST CURIOUS...................................

No mosquitos would mean that a lot of people would lose their job. Think of all the people employed to make mosquito nets, repellent creams and sprays, those lights that attract them and then boom they die. Wait a minute though. Does this mean that we really need them?

God create everything with a purpose, whether give benefit or just to give us a warning. If the masquito disappeared, the chain food will get break. This will make another problems as the balancing get interrupted.

diana, mmmm i thought about it.many people will lose their jobs and many industries have to be closed. I agree with you Devilova.Mosquitoes are essential components of the eco system. So extinction of mosquitoes will lead to ecological imbalance. In an ecologist's perspective we need them. Just think of the number of people die due to malaria, dengue etc, what do you say about that?

If mosquitoes become extinct, I will be very happy. I really hate mosquitoes, I forget to use mosquito-net when sleeping, they always make a noise around my ear or bite me, it is so terrible, then i have to wake up again to hang up mosquito-net. One more thing, it is very itchy when they bite me, my skin becomes red after that. Wish one day, mosquitoes and flies become extinct...^^

Ya, the real is they are still exist, they haven't extincted at all, lol. However, if they extinct one day, another type of animal will appear, i think. Look like dinosaurs types, they extinct long long time ago, and sure many animals appear after their extinction.

That would have been a great world. The mosquito insect accounts for the biggest number of deaths in the human population as compared to all other insects. A world without mosquitoes would actually be a world experiencing low rate of deaths and mothers and their children who are more vulnerable to malaria being safe at lower costs.

I have to say that a world without mosquitoes would be a world that I would really like to live in. The reason that I say that is because of the fact that I've always seen that mosquitoes really tend to like to bite me and there are a lot of mosquitoes in the area that we live in (not to mention I am allergic to their bites too). Well, I think that there would be an increase overall in world population, but it would erradicate many diseases as well.
