i have found a new use for all my grandson old sippie cups.. we actualy did buy in bundle all at once and had some many left over .. so i made good use of them of course they all have lids.. here's my trick.. i store left over foods in them like today i had a small can of mushrooms and after i used what i wanted on my pizza i had alot left. so i put them in one of the sippie cups and put the lid on and now there easy to store in the refrigerator with no spills.. works great..

Thats a great idea! I don't have any sippy cups left over from the kids but that is a great idea. I am sure that alot of the young mothers on here could save their's and utilize them this way. I tend to recycle things like this also. It's amazing what you can find if you use your noggin.

It is fulfilling too to find ways of re-using or recycling items.

Good use of an item most people throw out! I have some still from my third girl ( I bought new ones for this baby now) and I actually use them for my thread. I put the spool in the cup then run the thread through the holes at the top. The no spill rubber keeps the thread from falling back it. I have a few I use for that but this kid has brought new sippy cups to the house and when she is done with them we will use them your way too!

Thats an awesome idea for spill proof sippy cups. I'm glad you came up with a use for them so you could keep using them and keep them out of the landfills. I have a bunch of rubbermaid containers to put things in. What I did with old sippy cups when my kids were done with them was threw away the lids and used the other part as a regular cup.

That's a good idea...which makes me think...why not make jello in them and then you have jello in a bowl...and only one messy dish! I think I'll do that next time the GD's come over. THey love jello and I hate dishes!

Brill idea, sadly I have no sippie cups left in my house as my children are older, but wish I had thought of this when I still had some in the house.

yeah my oldest is 21 and my younges is 15, the sippie cups we bought belong to my 2 year old grandson from my oldest daughter.. she got a divorce and her husbands famly has custody of the baby.. so i dont get to see him alot now.. i mean they will let me have him.. but its not the same as getting him from my daughter and right now she is not doing good her own choice so im trying to lay low and see what happens i did get to see him last week for a little bit.. im lucky there are not mean people or i would be screwed and never get to see him...

You know, when my children got too big to use sippy cups, I simply took the lids off of them and let the kids use them as regular cups. This was something that worked for us and I saved the lids so that I would be able to use them with the smaller children or those children that weren't as secure with using a cup without a lid. However, now that you mention it, the size of a sippy cup is almost perfect for storing those partial cans of vegetables and such that don't get finished with a meal.

that is what i use them for we dont always eat a whole can of corn or cream style corn or peas.. and i can store them in there and no spill.. i just stored mushrooms in the last one.. i dont use my dish washer so i store all my storage containers in there great space saver.. take care

Old is not lost. Though many items lose shape very first especially those in the kitchen, they are still useful in one way or the other. The cups can be used to store much more in the house let alone just a container to store what is to be refrigerated. I do not throw away anything in my house unless it can to go bad.
