Don't make me pick. I've read so many books that I utterly adore, and I don't think that I could choose just one as my favorite book. If I had to pick one, then I think I'd be debating between one of the Chronicles of Narnia books by C.S. Lewis (probably Horse and His Boy), The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, or The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge. There are probably more that would fight for the title in my head, but those are the ones I can name off the top of my head. Maybe I'm still looking for my favorite book. It would probably be high fantasy and it would need to have at least one unicorn in it.

I was just thinking the same thing! I read so much amd find so many amazing novels that I cannot simply puck just one as a favorite. I keep readin The Alchemist, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, the Dragonlance Triology. I rwad so many genre of books and have favorites ong them but its too hard to pick one as my all time favorite book. Its like picking a faborite child.

I agree. Really hard to pick if you like many kinds of books in different genres like horror, time travel, romance, comedy, fantasy, super-natural, action, suspense and even the ones where you can even be the detective. Tsk! Well, I know I like vampire stories (nope, not the twilight series and those new stories that came out). I like the light humor of other stories too. I also like historical where there are knights, castles, and men in distress...(...wait...that's supposed to be "damsel in distress")...Well, anyways, there's a lot. It's just difficult to pick one out of those categories.

Jezebella, I would have said the same thing... like picking a favorite child. Except I don't have any children, so I don't know what it's like to try and pick a favorite. I imagine it's like trying to pick a favorite book! SinfulRose, I certainly know my favorite genre, high fantasy, but among the high fantasy books I read I have trouble picking a favorite. If I couldn't even pick a favorite genre, I imagine I'd have even more trouble.

I once bought a White Fang and gave it to my brother...or was it my sister?.. I doubt, though, if they had read the story. I know I didn't but I think it would entertain them at the time. Now that I also think of it, I never had any favorite book. I never thought to have a favorite from the hundreds of books we have here at home. (They're my mom's collection starting when she was still in high school. So you can just imagine how many of them she had collected already.) Anyways, if we're talking about computers, I could have given you a brand. But since it's a book, I think I still have to find it. I know! I can just share to you a certain book in my school library that I frequent very much. It's a book composed of 1000 stories and other literature that you can say would be my favorite in all those books I found there. I searched the net for the title because I forgot--but here it is "1000 stories You Can Use". It's a very good book full of lessons in life, moral values and is a good reminder of what we usually forget as a human being. It's a very entertaining book especially in days where you feel like you're knee deep on problems. I guess it's this book that helped me maintain my sanity in college too. Hope this share can help people out there who are going depressed, hopeless and alone. Have a nice day and Happy MyLotting!

You created a list? Wow, you must be one avid reader if you plan to buy those and read them one by one. Well, I have to admit, I had made quite a list in the past too. But it's a list online and filled with titles of Manga instead of novels. And I forgot about it until now. Well, I better visit that site sometime in the future to unwind. Have a nice day!

It's funny you should mention that book. I had it for free on my tablet but deleted it off. I am not sure of the author. My favorite book is True Betrayals by Nora Roberts it's a favorite read that I enjoy reading after I've forgotten most of the book.

Well, have you read the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad"? It's not a favorite but it's a very good eye opener for someone who lived frugally all their lives and seeing that they can easily change their life just by changing how they normally think about money and all. I guess it's that book that changed me my view of life, the society and my view of myself. I once thought that I would have to suffer under an employer just to earn money to live on but not getting into old age because I'll die due to my frail body while still reaching my 30s... (Yeah, I'm that sick in body. I hope not sick in the head too.) I guess I'm happy I got to read this one and thankful for the author, Mr. Robert Kiyosaki, for writing such a good book because I was given a chance to change my fate, the one I just mentioned, to something where I can live my dreams on. Hope you get to read this one. Happy MyLotting! Again...

The book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" really does inspire many people to think of things that was once not thought by the poor and the middle class. It's one of the self-help books that really got me into thinking of what it was I want to do with my life. At least it gave me hope and the thought "Hey, I can REALLY do change what will happen to me financially." And it's also this book that motivated me to make myself some money even before graduating--saving up to invest and retire young. I mean, who wouldn't want to retire as young as possible? Or have the "option" to work or not. I find that work/job today have become a necessity for people to live. And that is something I wish to change in my world. I don't know about you but I know I'm lazy enough that I cannot last long under a certain job--even if I love the job. I'm a person who cannot last long under a routine and is very much likely to jump from one task to another, you see.

I dont think I can choose just one book as my favorite of all time. I read so many books through the year that I just fall in love with them. I can say that Paulo Coellho is one of my favorite authors though. I always think and learn something after reading his books.

White Fang is by Jack London, and I love that book. It is one of my favorites, along with Call of the Wild, by the same author. But I also have to say my two favorites are the lovely bones and to kill a mockingbird.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I just finished reading it yesterday, but as soon as I started reading it, I fell in love with it and couldn't stop reading it, I was so eager to finish it, to find out what happens. It's a series with two other books- Catching Fire, which I started reading today, and Mockingjay.

My favourite book of all time is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. In some ways I wish it wasn't because it is a popular answer to this question. However its popularity is simply testament to what a wonderful work of fiction it is. I have read this book again and again and am always swept away by the passion and wildness of the love between Catherine and Heathcliff. I find nothing more moving than the fact they were unable to live without each other. The novel is deliciously dark and gothic in style and leaves us with the fitting ending that they walk together still, out on the moors as ghosts.

I don't really have a favorite book of all time as I usually read a new book and I always have new favorites. So yeah, I'm not really loyal to just one. I'm like a polygamous book-lover. Anyway, as of now, my favorite is "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. This book contains so much wisdom and knowledge but not told in a boring way. The story is very heartbreaking and I actually cried so much while reading this book.
