Hi everyone.. a few hours ago, a lady came here in our small store and was asking for food. She said she hasnt eaten since morning and ahe only has 5 pesos... my mom gave her a plateful of food and fed her. After eating she said shr didnt like water and was askinh for a soda. She saw my moms friend and said that she would give her long life if she would buy her a can of soda. Lol. Before she left, she said my mom had 5 husbands. Finally she said, remember that one day, Jesus Christcame by your house and you didnt give him a soda. ahhh.... people.... so its that time already? When people claim that they are The Christ and say that they can give you long life?

Oh my, if she's that hungry, she would eat and drink anything she'd be given. Other beggars would even dig in the garbage cans to find something they can fill their empty stomachs with. A soda? Wow!

I agree very much with @jureathome, if you really were struggling for food, water and shelter, you would be happy enough to have received the meal you were given let alone to complain about the water you received for free. It wouldn't cost the company too much to give away a soda, but if I were the lady in that situation I would have been grateful to have been giving the opportunity to eat a decent meal to give me energy and keep me from starving. When I first read this I was thinking why would she ask for a soda. I suppose maybe she hasn't had one in a little while or something. But, if that were me, I think I would have just been happy for the fact I had water because water is the drink that will quench your thirst. Soda and other beverages sometimes make you more thirsty and don't help you feel hydrated. As I was reading the comments, I had realised this lady probably or most likely had a mental illness that caused her to think the way she did, and that makes it a lot harder to say no to. Although, at one of my past jobs, we had a man that would come in who also wasn't completly all there (not being rude, I just don't like the term 'mental illness') and he'd come into the restaurant asking for free stuff from the staff. He would also be going around bugging all the customers, asking them random things and trying to get money out of them. It's a very sad situation overall to think that some people can't help it, but also, people that have different sorts of problems or issues, should be in the care of someone else who can stop the person from in this situation, bugging the customers. This man had came in very often and the business just couldn't have him there anymore if he was going to continue doing so. Eventually, they had to ask him to leave. As I said, it's a very sad situation but it's hard not to want to help someone out when you get the chance. You also need to be careful of people who pretend to do certain things, or act a certain way to get extra money and stuff like that. I know my uncle isn't big on giving the homless money. He gave a man money for gas one time because the man had said he didn't have any money and that he broke down in his vehicule down the road with his family in it. My uncle said he would give hima ride to the next gas station and get a gas can filled up for his car. The man insisted that my uncle should just give him the money and he'd do it himself. My uncle gave him some money and the man never got gas with it..The next year, (literally, I'm not joking or exaggerating) my uncle saw the same man, with the same story, asking the same thing.. Just goes to show you do need to be careful and to give with caution. I myself hate seeing people and not being able to help them when they need it. So when you can give, it always feels good to help someone but you do need to be careful of the randoms out there as well!

Hiya jd7., You have to feel for People like that they are definitely not right at all poor woman. Good Job your Mom was able to help her out as well. Wonder if she is taken care of somewhere? Probably she is being taken care of but she will not tell you I donĀ“t think apart from telling you about the other things that she comes out with. She sounds harmless enough and I hope she gets treatment because it can help her a lot the problem would be getting her to recognize her problem. Lucky she found all of you and you were able to give her to eat.xxx

I know a man around our town who has begged for nearly 20 years but never once did he considered himself as Jesus. The last time I have seen him which is this holy week, he's got two books one on each hand as he walked past our house. For the span of time I've known him it has been the first and last time I saw him carry books. I have no idea whether he knows how to read but he did appear awesome carrying those books. I have failed to give him food for several times but he still liked to walk near our house. In regards to that lady, she probably copies the actions of other people and ignored any book but the Bible.

That was sad. A lot of mentally ill person in our country doesn't get the medical attention that they need. Whether it is too much for that person to ask for soda even if you have fed her should not matter. It is all about good deeds and hope that she will be better or will live a better life. Incidences like this keeps you reminded of the bountiful blessings we received from God.
