this is annoying

I use firefox on my net book. During the past week or so, if I close the lid on my netbook, reopen it to pick up where I left off firefox basically locks up. So then I have to close it out and restart my netbook. Any suggestions why it's doing this? It's just annoying that if I close the lid on it, I will have to restart the whole thing. I've tried just closing out firefox and restarting firefox but it will give me an error message that tells me it's already running and I need to close out existing sessions, though I've closed them out. So I am either accepting of this restarting business or I have just been leaving the lid open other than when I take it somewhere other than home.

I don't use Firefox because I can't stand it. I use Chrome instead. My Firefox would freeze all of the time, and I just couldn't take it anymore. Chrome is so much faster and it does not freeze up as much.

I went to firefox because explorer locked up constantly if I had more than one window open. I usually have half a dozen open, but of course hubby says that's probably the problem... though I doubt that!

I'm having such problems with firefox a year ago that's why I stop using it. Chrome is more convenient for me. And I think it suits on any windows. I don't know what problems your having right now but i would suggest to you to change your browser. Its more stress less than fixing firefox.

I had a similar problem to that today on my laptop, and I ended up updating my FLASH player. That may not work for you, and it may not work in every sitaution, but my laptop was experiencing the same symptoms as your Net Book, and for me that was the solution that worked.

hi 3snugglebunnies I use firefox all the time but then I have an elderly desk top computer and Firefox works like a charm. these notebooks and laptops do have more troubles than the older staider desk tops.but perhaps chrome would work better for your notebook. It would not hurt to try it at least.

Could just be down to the notorious firefox memory leak issues. You could try and close any tabs with flash on it for example. A program I found that helped my firefox freezing / crashing or just generally lagging over all was firemin. It will use more CPU power to run firefox rather than the memory. My firefox would sometimes use upto over 700mb to be on one page, I used this program and it was less than 30mb. Heck of a difference and firefox overall seemed so much more reliable afterwards. http://www.rizonesoft.com/
