Till now, after learning English for more than 15 years, I still do not like English. I still remember that I was forced to learn English at the age of 12. At that time, i spoke English with a strange accent and was always laughed by people around me. So it takes me so many years to learn English well. While come to other language, like Japanese. As chosen by myself, learning seems funny and fast.

Hello dan, English is a compulsory subject in school so I learned it. That time I learned it for the exam and clearing the standards even though I too didn’t like it especially the grammar classes. Once I relocated my place of living I realized the importance of English in my life. People often speak in English and I faced difficulty to reply back in English as I was not used with the same. I could read and write well but speaking was difficult. Now I am happy to say that I overcome that difficulty too. However, I felt English is easy to learn than any other Indian languages.

It is also a compulsory subject in school. So I have to learn it, and try to learn it well enough for the exam, so that i can enter the high school and the university. Why English is totally different from my mother language. I do not hate the culture of English countries, but the grammar makes people crazy. You have to spend most of your learning time on practicing grammar, while you do not have enough time to use it in real condition. Even with ten years English study, many people here still can not use it to communication with native speakers. My listening English is quite well, writing is just so so. But comes to oral English is a big problem. Till now, I still can not chat with other in English fluently.

You can improve your speaking skill by regular talk on English with somebody. I am talking to my mylot friends over phone in English without any problem.(In India different states have different native language so English is commonly used among us). Find a friend who can speak English fluently and do talk with that friend on daily basis for sometime. I am sure it will help you to improve your speech.

Talking is badly needed to improve oral English. Though people around me are all good at English, but we do not have the habit to speak in English. We can not forget our mother tongue. I have try to enter the English pub in my college, but in most case, people there are speaking Chinese more than English. Without the environment, it is quite hard to make any improvement.

Now I can use English to communicate with people. But looking back to the experience of learning English, i think it is quite unhappy. I have spend a lot of time on it, while i think i do not get the same in return. The main reason is that I do not choose it as my foreign language, but it choose me.

I first learned English as early as I started to learn how to walk. My mom talked to me in English when I was really small. It's also a part of the curriculum in school so we had no choice but to really learn it. Now that we don't study English in college anymore, I still want to learn it, I want to be fluent in it, because it's a universal language. I know I can travel and have a career in a lot of different countries and lessen troubles and problems if only I am fluent in English.

Here in our country, some are very good in English even they are very young. It is because since they were a kid, their parents have been talking to them in English. English is not my most favorite language but I use it in my every day conversation with my foreign friends online. I also use it to talk to my students because I am teaching English to them. I think that for me, English is very important because it is the medium that we are using to be able to talk to other people. I also believe that is a person is good in English, he can also be competent.

Either my father or my mother can not speak English. Many people in China do not use English in their whole life. While they want their children to be good at English. It is quite hard for the children master English without a English surroundings. Now I am in Shanghai, a big city in China. As there are many foreign companies, so the English is quite important for a person to get a job in those companies. But to many people, they only have to know English when they are students as they have to pass the exam. In other time, there is no need for them to know English, for there is no use of it.

English is a compulsary language in my country, and I learned English from the 5th grade. It was the first foreign language that I learned and in the beginning I found it difficult to translate the sentences and pronounce the words. Little by little it got easier and I started enjoying the English lessons. When I was a child learned I learned English, because it was a part of the timetable and because I wanted to pass the tests Today I learn English because I need it in my daily life and when I travel. I often read books in English and I use English when I write emails to my friends from other countries.

English is the number one language spoken n many countries followed by French and Sapnish, I think. We need to study this because this is the medium of communication that yu can be easily understood by other nationalities even not that fluent in using this language.

English being an international language is learned all over the world. It is the platform for communicating with people belonging to foreign countries. India being once upon a time a British colony, people here are more or less accustomed with writing and speaking in English. But the modern era being the era of globalization, importance of some other languages is increasing day by day. Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Hindi etc are gradually growing popular among youngsters as people speaking in these languages form a major bulk of the international market. But in no way, you can neglect English. So in my opinion, try to rise to the occasion and learn as many international languages as you can because it would provide you with better chances in the job market. But English should always be treated as a must for all.

I started learning it, when I was 7, and I loved it from the beginning-probably because I have a nice sense of learning a foreign language. So it wasn't a personal choice for me, but I'm content with it.

English is so widely spoken nowadays, it has often been referred to as a world language, or the lingua franca of the modern era. And while it is not an official language in most countries, it is currently the language most often taught as a foreign language.

Learning the English language...getting mastery over the tongue...educating in the prestegious language...it all form part of your cultural existence. It is true that the full import of social behavior is achieved only through the royal language viz.English In most cultures across the globe, the system of education through English has gained much prominence as the tool of cultural fusion and knowledge gaining in abundance.

I learnt English because it was the primary language in my school. When i started to go to college i had friends speaking in Hindi and Marathi so i had to speak Hindi with most of my friends. I learnt English grammar and composition in my school. Now since i am doing post graduation i forgot most of the grammar and composition done in school. Maybe if i revise it, things will come up quickly in my mind. For me too English learning is easy than the other regional languages, because Hindi and Marathi look quite same but the languages are quite different from the other.

Well, I have studied English for 10 years, but only in schools. I've never done other courses of deepening and, therefore, I'm sorry. If I had learned the language better, I would have more opportunities today, especially in the workplace. However I am aware that to do profitable deals, it's never too late. Fortunately here on Mylot, since I am very active, my English has improved

We learned English in many ways either by reading books, watching movies, listening to foreign music, and to other stuff wherein in English is required. I am sure its a part of subject in a class where we are required, so we have no choice so we have to deal with written and verbal English language. And English is a universal language everywhere we go around the world to communicate though some country they use these as second language to understand different races.
