Two places having events on the same day. We went to both.

The town libray had an event. So I went to buy som books and hot dogs with sauce. The silent auction was not set up yet, so I saved some money there. The square dance club had their pan cake breakfast on the same day. So we ate pancakes, too. Last year they were on different days. But with budget cuts, there are more and more events to help causes that need to continue.Like the library used to be fully funded, but now it isn't. The part time (15 hours a week) library position is funded, but the buying of books is not. So this is the 3rd year they've had to raise money to buy books. The square dancers have had their fundraiser so they can hire square dance callers and keep their building up for over 30 years. This is the first, but it won't be the last double fundraiser day. So what fundraisers have there been where you live? Are there starting to be two in one day or more? Do you have to choose one or can you do more than one? Are some new ones starting where you are? Are they due to budget cuts or people being out of work or both? I was speaking to someone and both the food pantries and the pet shelters are doubling their events this year.

And I just stay home. I go out when my daughter and grandson have med checks, or doctor's appointments but not other than that. I have social anxiety and it is getting worse. Physical onfirmities keep me home too. Fundraisers are great and it is so good for people to show up.

I just wish those two had been spread out more. You can only spend so much time and money at each place. Sorry to hear that things are getting worse. They seemed like they were getting better for a while. Thanks and take care.

That has to be really hard. Can you get another counselor?

Things go better for me when I have a counselor to bounce things off and to restabilize at times. But without one I am lost at times.

There's pretty much nothing at all where I live! A few months ago there was a get together in the local council offices after mass to raise money for the church. They served bread rolls with ham or cheese. Real exciting stuff!

If I could eat ham, that would be exciting! Too much salt for me, but rolls and cheese, great! We have a soup for poverty meal at a church. You donate what you can and you get a bowl of soup. Kids at the local high school donate pottery bowls that they make and you get to keep the bowl. So most people donate about $10 for a bowl of soup.
