Great; now another day at work. But this time it was supposed to be a personal special day. Food is everywhere btu not that much. Celebrating at work? hmmm.. not that really. What's crazy here is I'm about to end my shift and it was like a normal day for me today. Alhtough everyone greeted me through text or chat online. Some coworkers did greet me and what's funny here is I'm not that obvious enough at work that it is my birthday. I was like; "wait.. is there something to be excited about for today?" I know how it feels to celebrate birthday at the office and for me; this is not the first time. For sure you also know how (boring and)normal can it be and you don't want to be too obvious about it for others. How many of you experience celebrating their birthdays at work? And can you tell me more about it? Please describe it what was your feeling about it.

Well I remember when I was teaching I got surprise birthday party from my student every years. It was fun and I found them are so sweet for remembered my birthday. I felt happy but I did not want to show that to other teachers because I did not want to make them jealous as the student not give them surprise party like they gave to me.

I do celebrate my birthday during working days but thing is, here is my company they shell out money for the celebrant. It was used to be a "surprise" but eventually, after staying almost 6 years here, the "surprise" is really not a surprise anymore. Lolz! I also shell out something for the team but that's simply it. Aside from the celebration, FB, text messages, tweets and email showers of greetings everything at work seems normal :D Our team is closely knit so as long as we can get together for a round of chat, it's enjoyable :D

Chelogirl and Keihimekawa; thanks for your feedback. Hahaha.. Good thing Facebook is up already; especially those nice sweet guys who will give you a cake (but in pictures) and everyone in the office is like; "LOLZ, Get us one of those because it's your birthday!" I sighed and mumbled; "...should you be the one guys who will give me those?" Hahaha.. but the rest is an ordinary day. Production peeps are also focus in their work as well; nothing much. It is seldom that I have an invitation from them that we shouls all go out; but I am not going to be the one who will initiate it. -_-")

I have never been in work on my birthday, but I have been in school before and I quite enjoyed it because the teachers used to make a fuss of you and you would always get a lot of presents and things like that from your classmates which I would look forward to. My birthday is right at the beginning of the school year so we always had a fair amount of fun around that time and I was always quite excited about going back to school anyway so the fact that it was my birthday honestly didn't make all that much of a difference to me.

Before, I treat my birthday as a regular day for me even when I was still studying. I just go to work or school back then. Do all the regular routine and just answer every text and message that I received that day. But 3 years ago, I told myself that I will make my birthday special by going to a place where I have never been before. Meeting new people and experiencing something new is a great way to celebrate one's birthday.

Haha; most of the time it may happened. It happened to me before. One of my friends told me that It's getting worse if you don't know what you are living for.

I celebrated my birthday at work thrice already. My office mates greeted me thru chat or Facebook then they gave me cake. It's just an ordinary day

Happy Birthday I never really had my birthday celebrated at work. Nobody keeps in mind when is the co-workers birthday, so if they don't tell, they will be forgotten. We usually bring some chocolate for everyone on our birthday and then we get greetings, but that's all. I know that at places where people have been working for many years with the same colleagues do celebrate it with cakes and drinks etc. I heard it can be a problem because the colleagues can get mean if someone doesn't treat them generously on her birthday because she can't afford it.

I couldn't tell you about work but some guys at school made a big deal about my birthday. It was pretty awkward since I really don't care about my birthday actually. I don't need it to "make it a good day". Every day is a good day for me and a day worth celebrating. Does anyone feel the same way?
