Looking back bfore, i had seen 500 hundred pesos bill near the spices store.I buy spices at that time.then when i turn myself and look downward, i saw the 500 pesos bill.Nobody is with me.I get the money then i go home bringing my spices that i bought. Then i observe if theres someone lost money. But nobody. So i kept the money in myself.Until that i used it personally coz nobody claimed it.Now deaar lotters, am i wrong/ or am i correct? i returned it if someone will claim, but nobody claimed it so i used the money.

How can you be sure that nobody claimed it ? Personally I see only pennies on streets, and I don't remember the last time I found a banknote. I don't know how much are 500 pesos. If it is a small amount, I think you were right to keep it. I would bring to the police a big bill but I would keep a small one to avoid to have to waste an hour in a police station for nothing. I keep a coin when I find one : one of my previous neighbors was saying that "coins have no tails".

Wow, I guess that the definition of a "small amount" is definitely subjective. If I have done the conversion correctly, 500 pesos is equal to $38.12, and while that is not a huge sum of money I would definitely not consider it to be a "small amount", either. I wonder whether or not it would still be considered a small amount if Thelmadacullo112659 were the one to have lost that sum of money.

I believe that you did the right thing, you never wanted to keep the money, even if you found the actual owner, you tryied to find this person, if I understand well your disussion, so, what´s your concern about, keep and enjoy the money, you did the right thing.

When I found a fairly large amount of money I turned it in, because I would have wanted someone to do that for me if I had lost that amount of money. After a certain amount of time (I think it was thirty days) nobody claimed the money, so I was allowed to keep it. I have a clear conscience knowing that I did the right thing by giving the person time to realize that he or she lost the money and to come forward and claim it.

If you are well off in life and are financially stable then the right thing to do would have been to give it away in charity. If not take it as someone left some charity for you. Enjoy that money thelma...

Money is hard to earn nowadays. It will not be fair to someone who worked hard for the lost money. Nevertheless, a 500 peso bill is too much not to be consumed. Keep the money or let it be taken by another person, it doesn't matter much as neither choice works.

i think it is okay that you kept the money. if someone claimed it then you just give it to them but no one was there. so i think that's fine. if you feel really guilty, you can put it to good use or better donate it rather than just use it on something not even worth it.

The problem is when the wrong person claims the money if you announce the money you found. Some suggest we give it out as alms.

i think it fine to keep the money, as long as you tryed to find the owner and made an attempt and noone came forward to claime it.. so i would have done the same thing.. if i find money and noone says its there i consider myself lucky and keep it and be happy but if someone came forward and i knew it i would give it back as well.. so have a great day and enjoy your find..

Two days ago, my 4-year-old son and i were buying bread from a store. He caught my attention by tapping on my hands and pointed to a 200-peso bill underneath his slipper. I took it as no one else was there, waited for someone to come, and even asked the owner regarding the money, but after 30 minutes of waiting, we went home and took the money. The following day, i went back to the store and asked if someone was looking for it, but there was none, and on that note, i took the 200 bill and bought bread, lol! i guess as no one would claim, then i have the option to spend it.

And even if someone claimed it how would you know it is really theirs? Cash is not like a wallet with easily identifiable things inside. And if we cannot ever be sure of the true owner of something is it wrong to keep it? And even if it is wrong, let's accept this - if you didn't take it, someone else surely would!

Easy, it isn't yours and it isn't on anybody's. So you should better donate it to charity instead. Easy call right? Don't use it for personal usage, if there someone who lost that and was not able to claim it it will be in your conscience. But if you put it into charity instead, your conscience is safe and you have helped some other way. What do you think?

You are wrong if you did not tell you found the money. In the shop or at the police. You are free to keep it saved till someone shows up (and of course can tell you he/she lost it).
