Almost everyone is on facebook these days, even children! Do you think facebook encourages people to be show offs and superficial? I certainly find that people on facebook are pretentious. What is your opinion? Are you on facebook an dhow much time do you spend there?

Hello shivanisd I am not a big fan of the facebook, either, but I can see some positives from it. It is a good place to keep up with some old friends and family. It is convenient for this sort of thing as well. Sometimes I get annoyed by a lot of different posts to my news feed, but then I tell myself that it's no big deal. People like to express themselves in different way, and if I really don't like it, I can remove them. I have kept several people as friends, but blocked their posts because it just got to be too much. So far as I an tell, they are not even aware that I have stopped watching all of their posts. At present, I do not have any pretentious friends on facebook. I had some, once, but I removed them. I had some friends who were quite superficial, but I wasn't surprised as that is their way offline as well. Fortunately, I could simply remove them. The friends I have on facebook now I consider to be genuine friends. I also believe that they are often gracious toward me and the things I may post on there. I don't spend all that much time on facebook, but I do check in a couple of times daily. Lots of times, I would rather watch Family Guy, especially my favorite episode about the time that Peter messed up and had to straighten out things, and Brian wondered about the family and Stewie was trying to take over the world. If I'm not watching that, I like to watch Lily on How I Met Your Mother. She's my favorite character on that show.

The best episodes are when that chicken appears and fights Peter. That doesn't happen in every episode. Do you think that chicken is a hen or a rooster?

There is a few people on my facebook that do nothing but annoy the pants off me... They are the kind of people you are describing. One particular woman who is NOT happily married likes to try and act like she is on facebook. That annoys me to no end. She's married sure, but its not a happy marriage so stop pretending it is. Just don't say anything about your marriage or husband period... No need to pretend its all great. A few other people like to do nothing but do 'self pics' (ya know the typical use a cell phones and a mirror pic) and try to make themselves look all hot and sexy and truthfully they dont. They end up looking quite easy and sleazy. I think people take facebook way too seriously these days. Whatever happened to being yourself

i know. when i look at my fb friends, im like..what do you think of yourself? its almost like the image one projects to people is more important than the real person, and i really hate that.

I go on Facebook a lot, some days more than others. Facebook is what you make it. I like to go on and play the mindjolt games and a few others. I also like to use FB to keep in touch with family and friends that don't live close or live in other provinces. I enjoy seeing pictures of my kids that I wouldn't normally get a chance to see as they live quite a distance from me in another province. It's a good way to keep in touch. Having said that, it can also be a waste of time as well.
