Okay this is gross I have to be honest. But i got the idea from a post I read earlier about periods. How sad I am 24 years old and the idea of a period still grosses me out. I also have 3 kids all delivered by c-section so I have literally had men's hands digging around in me. But..anyways...I was surfing the net about 2 months ago and I came across a thing called the diva cup.. have any of you heard of this. Let me be honest it grosses me out but I still bought one. And while it is kinda not so awesome I still love it. I spent 24 bucks on it and ive used it for 2 months so I have already evened my money out since I usually spend 24 bucks in tampons every two months. Oh yeah the diva cup is a ...cup that takes place of the tampon. but rather than throw it away you ummm dump it out wash it off and shove it back in, but you can wear it for up to 12 hours. So yea I love it. I really do I do think that it is gross but I really like it. I find it to be more comfortable than tampons, and you aren't hurting the enviroment

I've seen that cup over the net, yeah I think that's really gross and like you, I hate menstruation thing. I don't like the feeling of having menstruation and there is a napkin and the blood thing. I am thinking of buying tampos and those cup but I can't bear the fact that I will put a thing inside my genital. How's the feeling? Did you feel that there is a thing inside you, how was it when you move and is it effective? thanks!

Sorry but I don't see any reason to joke on what I've said. In the Philippines, an ordinary woman like me usually wear pads so we are not familiar with tampons and cup. Those who only use them maybe the dancers, models, celebrities and socialites so I really don't have an idea on that thing. Thank you!

I'm not even going to attempt to respond. My guess is that you are one of those people who can't take a joke about anything. It's not worth my time.

I was so skeptic about it when I bought it but I will do almost anything to save money..lol... but I thought it might be uncomfortable and low and behold it really aint. To be completely honest I have been wearing tampons since I was 11, I am 24 now, and the cup feels SO much better than those things. You just really have to way your options, and once you get passed the gross part it makes it easier. To be honest posting this post made me come to terms with my Diva cup alot better. I know that sounds weird but it's true. I seriously don't feel it almost at all. I have only had two periods since I bought it but I would recommend it any day. And I have heavy heavy periods ( i know super gross) so I did have to "clean" mine more than normal, but like I said it was SO much better than tampons or pads.... and I have to pick for a second you said you dont like the idea of anyting up inside your genitals, are you a nun..please don't be mad I was just kidding.

But is it safe to wear it for 12 hours straight? I once bought what I think were called "Glad Rags." They were like sanitary napkins, but you wash them out and use them over and over. I did not care for them that much.

yes it is completely safe to wear for up to 12 hours. I have never tried the reuseable pads, to me wear disposable pads was like wearing a diaper..but yes the diva cup is amazing

I think it isn't gross at all. We don't even know what tampons are made of, but they contain dioxin which is actually quite dangerous. It's much safer to use a cup that you clean, so you know it's safe. I wish I had known about menstrual cups earlier, it would have saved me from a lot of trouble and would have saved a lot of money. I got one too and it paid off within a few months. It takes a while to learn how to use it comfortably, but it's worth it, better for your health and for the environment.

You might get UTI with that, it will be wiser to get your OBGYNE's advice. This way you will be protected from possible contamination. I haven't heard of this personally, so I'm skeptical on the subject.

I keep meaning to purchase one of those cups. I really like the idea of not creating all that garbage. Plus, they're super convenient. I don't like to carry a purse, and I really like the idea of being able to go long stretches of time without bathroom breaks-especially at work. Plus, they hold more fluid, and my flow tends to be quite heavy. Can you sleep with them in?

yes you can sleep with it in. and if you think about it it's alot healthier think about all the stuff that is used to make tampons..it's bleached cotton and we are shoving that in a very intimate hole..lol
