Long nails or keeping it short??

I have observed that lots of women nowadays like to keep their nails really long. Its quite common to see long nails from women as compared to men maybe because women would consider it as part of their style.
For me, i dont quite find it attractive for women to have long nails. It just seems scary that i could get scratched by their nails accidentally anytime and i have experienced it lots of times already before. lolz.. :)
I think its quite hard maintaining long nails especially trying to keep it clean.
Before, my mom usually reminds me to always keep my nails short so that it won't easily get dirty.
How about you?
Do you keep your nails long or short?
Do you find it attractive seeing women having long nails?

I keep my nails short for the same reason as you- germs can easily get under the nails and it looks very dirty and it can cause sickness too. 
Women with long nails are fine as long as they keep it clean and not too long.

You are right. The women's nails are very clean everytime. Because it is a fashion of womens. But I personally don't like it because it hurts my lover and mobile keypad also.

I guess most men preferred their nails cut short especially those who works in the office. It will be untidy to see if their nails are not well groomed. It's fine with women to don long nails but not too long of coarse and well manicured.

oh! Really interesting discussion. Actual I keep my nails. I am a boy though I keep them. Not for fashion. Actual I am very lazy and careless. I forget to cut them and when anybody told me about them I feel very shamed.
My nails are broken severial time and it's very painful. Though I forget to cut them and feel like wasting time.
Still now I responds you with my long nails. That mean again I forget to cut them.
Now I have to cut them and thank you for remind me.

I have also experiance about nails broke. Before some years one of my nails broke from middle. It was very painful. And I cant forget this situation in my life.
So be carefull friend and try to cut your nails once in a week.

I personally like my nails a little long but not too long. They have to be up kept for me to be ok with them, but once one breaks they all get cut down shorter. I find that some women like to have there nails way to long and I don't find that fashionable or attractive at all. But when a women keeps them at a good length and clean then it can look ok. And as for men having long nails I just think its a don't. I think men should just keep them at a good short length and clean.

for me its okay for a woman to have a long finger nails especially if they are painted with nail polish,because it can cope attractions,actually i have long finger nails right now with the color of blue green nail polish,i think it will depend to a woman on how they will take care their nails to keep clean.

Personally I find it very attractive for people to have longer nails as they can do more designs and things with them. I find the Japanese "deco nails" very VERY attractive and I actually have a pair of them. I really enjoy long nails BUT I would not keep my real nails long, only fake nails I would keep extremely long.

Hello cyclops and welcome to myLot. Boy you have a lot of responses for you discussion. It seems that most believe that most women like and have long nails but reading the responses most women prefer short nail. Short nails because they are easier to keep clean. I like short nails because of typing. When my nails start to get long my fingers slip off the keyboard keys. When I would get creams out of jars It will get under my nails and it's hard to get it out.
Some people are lucky and have nails that have a shape that makes their nails look long. My daughter is one of those people. When she puts polish on them they really lok longer than they are. Lucky girl.

You mean you wouldn't want your woman to scratch her nails on your back as you were making love? Ok! Me? since the age of 9 I have Had to keep my nails short. That is the only way to play the violin. So to this day my nails are short.

i always keep mine short.i'm way too active to have the luxury of long nails,i just break them.if i have a special occasion,i'll just put on fake nails.most people don't know the difference anyway.

i dont like long nails on anyone, i try to keep mine short and clean and i hate it when it comes time to cut them they dont grow very often but when they do , i will put off cutting them , infact they need it now, will provbably do that before i go back to work thursday.. but as bad as i hate my long nails and hate to cut them when i met my hubby he had long nails and i thoguth that was weird and so did my family and after we started dating he knew my dislike and he started cutting them and now there not long and im glad.. so at least that is better now..

I like to keep my nails long. I believe you need your nails to reach a certain length that it actually keeps clean. Mine are that way. When they grow midway to that 'clean' length, they tend to get dirty a lot. But once you reach the ideal 'clean' length, you find that you don't have to worry about dirty fingernails. But maintaining could be really hard. I keep my nails short because it hinders my typing, and I type a lot on the job. Plus it also makes it hard when I'm using my phone, and I go on myLot a lot. So I tend to keep my nails short.

I know exactly what you are talking about with long nails. I like long nails but not super long like you see on some woman. Right now my nails are super short and I don't like it.

I could never have long nails as a cook even I did wore gloves most times but when you work in the kitchen to me long nails are a no no I even insisted on my helpers to have short nails and no nail polish...I used to say I'm sure no one like bits of nail polish on their salads! any way now I Am retired but still keep my nails short because is easier to use the key board! and no I don't think really long nails are very attractive but that is just the way I see it.

I always kept my nails long well manicured with a nail polish that matched my clothes. But this is history now. I need to do some chores now around the house and long nails simply do not fit in there!

I like medium cute nails not too short nor too long. just above a tiny bit. easier to care for looks neat and clean. some long nails are ugly if not taken care of and maybe too fancy for some .. They do stand in the way when working, typeing etc. also too short can be ugly..does not look neat unless cut same and same appearance. so could go both ways. I think the best way is just above the tips not pointy,not too round but just oval like or straight across. oval like on ends and then straight across looks neat for any occasions.

I keep it trimmed, all the time. I don't have very nicely shaped nails, so it doesn't look good if it's long. I also don't put on colored polish. I do like to be able to grow them longer and put on color, but it just won't suit me.

i keep my nails short but when i feel like getting a nail polish or what, i want it to be long so that it looks cool. but if im without a nail polish, i keep it short because i want it to be neat to look at.
