It doesn't look like this is an active topic or favorite. So if you have ibs what are your tips on coping?

My daughter has IBS. Hers is mostly the constpated side of it. She has to take lactose 30 cc every day. If she forgets to take it she will plug the toilet. I'm serious. I don't know how her bowel can stretch that far but her moments will be like the size if a horse poo. She went 28 days once without going. I feel sorry for anyone who suffers from IBS. I have another friend that has the chronic diarrhea side of IBS. it's bad either way. Coping is done by getting proper treatment. I have colitis that sometimes cones with extreme anxiety. I don't have it much anymore but I had it the other day. It came on suddenly with bad anxiety.

I have the chronic diarrhea side if it. I just have to take it one day at a time. Sometimes one hour at a time

I had ibs and I grew out of it. I read when I was young that if you have it as a child you usually outgrow it by adulthood but if you get it as an adult then you will likely have it for life. It wasent until I was about 19 and got pregnant with my daughter did my ibs issues go away. It was terrible to live with so I am so thankful not to deal with it anymore. I was skin and bones when I had these problems.
