Still getting tons of TRAFFIC to my Squidoo lens but NO MONEY?

I constantly update the lens to make sure the content is fresh but there is nothing left to update. Every since the new changes, no earnings. Traffic should count for something right? 
Thinking about leaving squidoo for good. All my hard work. This will be my second lens to die. Any suggestions?

I started dabblin with Squidoo recently. I have had an account there for years but never done anything with it. I was ore interested with my blogs - but then Blogger got rid of them 
I am not even certain yet how earnings add up on Squidoo but Ienjoy messing with my lens and seeing what transpires.
Maybe we should think about leaving all of these platforms and making our own site?

the squidoo pays after two months.
so for april activity you will get the payment in july.
the payment depens on the rank your lens has.
i am new to squidoo and i only have two lenses.so i can't expect payment yet.
i did some research to lern about earnings and i found a lens that explains it very well:

@mysdiana, hey there! I have been with squidoo for years too but one by one they keep banning my lenses. Did the blogger thing too. 
I just dont get it. Blogger and Squidoo was making tons of money from our traffic. So what happened? You could be on to something with making your own site. Cant wait to see it.

Oh I have no plans for my own site yet. It's just a thought, nothing more, though it is probably nearer to getting off the ground now than ever before

hey segeantrom,
I don't think you should leave Squidoo. I research your lenses. And you only have 1 in tier 3, the rest are higher than lensrank #85,0000 which you won't get paid at all. Squidoo has some rules but it's a good site. I have a few lenses and it's paying off. If you want you can send me a message and i will show you how it works if you want.

Exactly my point, all that hard work and not getting paid for it. Just tired of the rankings and stuff. Traffic should count for at least something. There are sites that do pay for views, maybe I will check them out. Thanks for the encouragement though.
