This might sound like a funny question concerning religion, however many people believe in the so-called Holy Ghost. I thought ghosts were supposed to be scary. So now, are there good ghosts and bad ghosts?? I find it very strange people can think God as three. These stories are clearly generated so they can match a story religion spreads. God, just like all of us, is ONE. People can make up games and stories but that's not Reality.

I don't understand why you find it odd that God should have a Holy Spirit or Ghost. Haven't you been telling us that we are spirit beings? Obviously since God is set apart from mere human beings, of course His Spirit or Ghost is holy. As far as being three in one, the same is true of humans who were created in God's image. We are spirit beings which will continue even after our earthly bodies die, we possess a mind which controls our desires, emotions and actions, and we live in a body which will return to dust when our spirit leaves it.

So you don't believe we are body, soul, and spirit? What is your definition of spirit, and is it different from soul?

6precious102. We are spiritual beings in our true natures. That is who we are. I won't go into details but I have direct experience to this fact. Our physical bodies are no more than our transportation in this physical world. As for the soul, that is another invention of religion. On a quiet night after everyone has gone to sleep. Explore and discover who you really are. Talk with the very youngest of children for they can still easily tell the difference. With so much sensory input through our bodies, we are seduced at an early age into thinking the physical is all there is. On the other hand, the most valuable things will always come out to be the spiritual ones. Discover!

God is One and we are one. If you are going to claim our characteristics as different parts, aren't you going to need more than three?? God may have lots of children, however there is only One God.

There are many religions. To which one do you refer? What is the story this religion spreads and why would "they" (whoever "they" are) want to generate stories to match this religion's story? What is the evidence that the story this religion spreads is made up? Do you think evidence is important or should we trust someone's word alone?

It's comical for someone like you, who doesn't even reason, to say his goal is to get others to think. If you want any part of God, the Father, the Son, or the Holy Spirit to visit you, you do the asking. If I should not trust your word alone, why do you try to get me to believe your word alone since you give no evidence to back it up? You say if it's served to you on a plate, you will go discover the truth. Why do you waste your time lying to me? You know I know that isn't true. If you truly believe I merely accept what is handed to me on a plate, then you haven't been paying attention to my responses, which also proves you don't go discover. "Perhaps it's time to rethink your strategy. You could discover so much. The only thing holding you back is you." Speak to yourself Bird123.

bestboy19, your quote: why do you try to get me to believe your word alone since you give no evidence to back it up? My answer: Simple. Don't believe. You have my blessing. If you are one who cares about truth, I have said enough that you would be curious enough to want to discover the truth. Hey, I make no demands. If you want to do nothing, that is your choice. Even doing nothing brings us all lessons. I suspect that deep down you see the truth in what I say and that what bothers you the most. You have invested too much time and effort into your beliefs to ever give them up. You wouldn't search for the truth at the risk your beliefs could prove to be wrong. Indeed, you have many issues to work out.

bestboy, am I making any demands on you?? Of course not. My goal is to get you and others to THINK!!! How am I doing?? So tell me all about your holy ghost. Have him pay me a visit. Indeed, that would prove interesting to me. As for trusting me,if you are to form beliefs from what I say, I guess trust would be an important part. If it makes you curious enough to venture into undiscovered country to discover the truth for yourself then trust is not needed. All you need is an unending hunger to discover the real truth. My belief is that is where you are I are much much different. Serve it on a plate and I will go discover the truth. Serve it on a plate and you merely accept it. Perhaps it's time to rethink your strategy. You could discover so much. The only thing holding you back is you.

Ghosts only exist in people's minds the do not actually exist. There may be strange things happening at times but they are not supernatural they are just things that cannot be explained at the time. Example: There is an eye condition that some people develop as they get older that causes them to see things that are just there. This is caused but the eye sending signals to the brain which if cannot interpret properly so it gives the best picture it can. AS to the the holy ghost or the trinity that is of course just made up by priests. Just a load of nonsense

My wife has "wet macular degeneration" and when she was diagnosed they told her that she would see things what were not there. What she sees is playing cards, queen of spades, king of hearts etc quite distinctly

Wow. That must be a challenge to deal with. I have heard that eating spinach helps people with macular degeneration. Eating the dark green veggies thicken the blood as well. Personally, I can't stand eating spinach cooked in any way. It's not bad, fresh on a salad. It will be nice when science advances enough to fix such problems. Until then, we must all try to muddle through best we can.

Yes, I just recently heard of an elderly lady friend of mine has Floaters. She said when she first had trouble, she was thinking all kinds of crazy things. So you are right, for things unexplained, one must search for the real answers rather than make up something then call it the truth. Yes, I agree that the trinity is no more than a story.

I'd like to believe in two ghosts for now. My mother and casper. My mother's ghost would obviously care for me, and casper is supposed be a darling, right? :) But..I dont believe in them. I mean, they must exist otherwise we wouldnt have imagined it. Like matter can neither be created nor destroyed, and it can only change forms, our dreams and imaginations are also indications of what exists in the universe. However, it is not necessary that what is there in the universe will be able to step in our lives.

Interesting comments. Since we are spiritual beings in our true natures, trapped in these physical bodies, are we ghosts as well?? Often things that go bump in the night can generate the imagination to picture most anything. Like you.I must accept the possibility of interaction with spiritual beings no longer restricted by these physical forms. Since I don't scare easily, it would be an interesting encounter. As to date, I haven't seen, heard, nor felt any ghosts of any kind. On the other hand, in my younger day, I was guilty of a few pranks to convince others ghosts were around. Boo!!! Yes, I found a few believers around Halloween. I had to show my tricks to one girl to stop her crying. She was really scared and really believed. Lucky me she was more relieved than angry when she discovered it was all me. Bad Bird! Bad Bird! Don't do that again. Yes, sometimes a little fun can turn around on you. Everyone was happy in the end. I guess that was a lesson on beliefs verses reality. Seems there are many adults needing such a lesson even today.

We cant imagine what does not exist bird. This means everything that is imagined has either existed or is existing or will exist sometime. This is the reason we need to keep our minds under control and not let new and fearsome permutations and combinations evolve.

Ok, you are confused on your religion...or what you hear about it. First of all, ghosts and the Holy Ghost are two different things. No one can see the Holy Ghost, it is just a reminder in religion of the spirit and faith. That is why now, in modern times we called it Holy Spirit, rather than Holy Ghost. Secondly, some religions do believe there is three in ONE. The three parts make up the whole reason of God and the world. This is why people cross themselves and say in the name of the Father(one- the Maker of the world), and the Son(two- reminder of Jesus' sacrfice for us and our humanity) and the Holy Spirit (three- spirit in all divine matters- miracles, spirit of the church in continuing the faith). Just because you don't have a full understanding of relgion, does not give you a right to say that it is made up.

Its mean you are a polytheism? Who is the God then?

I was not attacking, just peeved that someone would say another person's religion is made up because they do not obviously understand the realms behind it. And no I am not a polytheist...I have an advanced degree in religion. Just simply trying to enlight someone who does not understand. If it is an issue to bring up any controversy in a discussion...which I don't believe that it is against the rules since it furthers the conversation...then I will avoid speaking my mind....and definately avoid the religion topic.

Hi bird: I think I'm a sceptical person person to this subject. I have never had experienced something like this and at the same time I wish I never find a ghost for real However I let the door opened. I don't believe in ghosts but I don't know everything, there's the possibility they exist here. However I am not afraid, I just don't think about them. ALVARO

Yes, it is important to be open for all possibilities and not allow blind faith to lead you into accepting mere beliefs. I know religion teaches people to value beliefs, however one can never go wrong with truth. Indeed, it would be an interesting experience to bump into a ghost. I would be more curious than scared.

I think ghosts are real- they can just be really strong emotions left by the deceased which is why people claim to see ghosts where people were murdered. I also believe in Holy ghosts- like the Holy Spirit.

OK, some good common sense here. Maybe when someone cries haunted house, we ought to be the one's to investigate. We are going to see what actually is rather than dream of the stuff that goes bump in the night.

I believe in ghosts. However I remain skeptical of religion. I believe ghosts are the spirits of deceased people. Weather they are haunting some people or looking for help, I'm not sure. I think it depends on the ghost. I know some might think I'm weird for saying this.

Well now, I have never met a ghost, however I do know that in our natural spiritual state there are no restrictions. I have to be open to the possibility that troubled souls might interact with those they might think will help them. It would prove to be an interesting encounter.
