What kind of weird stuff do you eat? if anything at all. I have to admit that when I get around baseball field sand my mouth starts to water. I played ball for 12 years growing up and I can remember being little and being on the infield and purposely diving for balls so that the sand would get into my mouth. I know it sounds super weird but there is actually a word for it. Its called pica i believe thats how you spell it. Its not a uncontrollable feeling or want because even though my mouth waters I don't go out on my daughters t-ball and start licking the ground even though I want to. Does anyone else have something like this? I had this really bad when I was pregnant, I would go to the drive way and lick my finger and put it in the gravel dirt then lick my finger, and when I was pregnant I really couldn't help it, I couldn't stop myself. But I have control over it now

I've never done it myself but I've read that it's a sign of mineral deficiency of some kind. Maybe you should get tested for that? I know that some children do that and will sneak and do it even when they're reprimanded for it. "They" say it's dangerous because e coli and salmonella is in the soil, but then, maybe some people have a higher tolerance for those.

Yeah when I was in the WIC program for my daughter they would make us take nutrition classes and that is one of the things we learned. Your diet might be missing iron, calcium, or zinc. I used to like to chew on paint chips and after the program I asked my doctor about it. They gave me a blood test and found that I needed more iron in my diet because I had Anemia. I am glad we learned it because I would have never put the two together. I hope you do try and get tested or try to take vitamins this might help.

I've heard of such things, I've even ahd it happen with me. The thing is, I've heard the things you crave to eat can be directly related to a deprivation in your body. For me, my want was to eat toilet paper. I read online that it was because of an Iron deficiency that I had this want. Once I got my iron levels back sort of on track it stopped. However, I do understand the "feelings" you get on it.

yes. I eat ground nut, plantain, apple, groundnut cakes etc. whenever I feel a taste of it. Pregnant women do have separate taste for -- sour, sweet etc. yesterday evening I played with two children --cricket--I was bowling them -- I enjoyed playing for 30 minutes then returned and after a few minutes took bath. It is very hot over here in Chennai and it sweats when one plays on the ground. I consumed more energy to compensate the sweets I took in the afternoon. good day

I eat some food that other people would find weird like innards of chicken, pig or cow, fertilized duck egg, and congealed blood, etc. Well, they are weird if these stuff are not part of your culture. For me, I find them (slurp!) delicious!
