It sound odd when you hear that snake become food, you might ask are we really running out of food? or what happen to the economy...I have read lot of articles about exotic foods including snake and i am wondering how it taste like. It was my x military uncle who personally say that snake taste really good like chicken. I wish to taste it one and decide if it could be a good food just in case...

Haha, it does taste like chicken. Also alligator tastes like chicken as well. If you are in a pinch, it wouldn't be a bad meal. Just make sure you don't get bit by it first ;/

1, People all around the world have been eating snake for thousands of years it has nothing to do with the economy unless you take into effect that people can charge a lot more money for it then beef or chicken. It is tasty as far as reptilian meats go. I am not all that into eating reptilian meats myself. I Have had snake, turtle and alligator and though ok I wouldn't order any of them personally.

I have actually seen on a couple of survival shows where snake was being cooked over an open fire, and it looked very tasty. They were hungry, so I guess that even if it did not taste that good they would have eaten it, but they all raved about how good it tasted. I would definitely try it at least once, but I would want it cooked over an open fire or on a grill rather than fried or something like that.

No, I have never eaten snake. I have heard several things about how it tastes, but I don't think I could bring myself to want to taste it. It is certainly not on my next food shopping list.

It depends on what type of snakes do you want to eat. Snakes from river and forest tastes like chicken with mint leaves. I wonder if largest snakes like anaconda can become food and what does it tastes like? Since snake like that swallows humans too.

Luckily I got a chance to taste the snake meat before. Just like your uncle said the snake tastes really good like chicken. I would say it is quite delicious. If you were not told it is snake meat, you would like it and won't be scare of it. This was what happened to me. My friend ordered the food without telling me the true. LOL After the meal, I was told it was real snake meat. What an experience!

Nope and nothing that supposedly tastes like chicken ever actually tastes like chicken. I think those people have never even eaten a chicken before. They say the same thing about frog legs. I've had frog legs and they tasted like frog legs which was not in the least bit pleasant.

no I have never ate a snake. yet I have heard some do eat them. I do not think I would want to unless it was a last important thing to do. They seem to eat anything even rats and just thinking of that mainly. no I do not think I want to eat one or try one.

Well, I've eaten rattlesnake on several occasions, and as much as I hate to trot out an old cliche, it tasted like chicken. Kind tough chicken, but I've had chicken that tough. "Chicken" is how we describe pretty much any bland, meaty flavor without any particularly distinctive flavor, though rattlesnake has a kind of gamey undertone that I wouldn't call pleasant. Think of really dark, dark meat.I've had rattlesnake both deep-fried and roasted (including a roasted one a friend killed himself, cooked over the campfire). I'm not sure I'd want to eat raw snake; I haven't the vaguest idea what kinds of bugs snakes have and I'm not entirely interested in finding out. Cheers !

I can't say that I've ever tasted snake, but I have heard that many exotic foods tend to taste like chicken. I'm not afraid to try new things. The last thing I tried was frog legs. I really found them tasty, but you have to watch for bones. As far as frog legs tasting like chicken, I'd have to say maybe a spicy chicken.

In Guangdong Province in southern China, people eat many kinds of odd things, wildcat, mouse, snake and so on.But in 2003,the first case of SARS found in Guangdong and then spreaded to the whole world, the carrier of the virus was civet, one of the odd things they eat.I think it's risky to eat snake or other odd things, you'd better just stay away from them.

No, I haven't taste snake, and I really don't plan on doing so. I really don't like snakes at all, which is probably why I don't plan on ever tasting snakes. It's just not the sort of thing that I'm into.

I haven't tasted snake and I don't plan to eat one any time soon. It's not because I don't like the idea but it's the fear of eating animals with venom. It is for this same reason I am not open to eating dogs, cats, and rats for fear of rabbis contamination.
