I was thinking if you wanted a lot of responses, on what topic you should discuss. I would like to make this discussion simple, because I have found that simple discussions get a lot of responses than complicated or boring discussions. Am I right? I have started much discussions and I happened to get much responses for simple topics like ice creams, aliens. But there are hi-fi discussions which topped that day too and people share hi-fi knowledge. Is mylot about social networking too or just making money? And hey mylotters!! Have you any idea what I'm talking about?? Hehe,, I'm just thinking what is mylot about and what do people like to respond? I think mylot is about making money much but you start enjoying it that is becomes social networking. And people like me, who are lazy will like to read short simple discussions and comment!! What do you think about this discussion? Long or short?

Whether or not your discussion is a discussion is from the responses and comments and everything. It just does not depend on the "topic" that you have started.I have no idea of what topic would fetch me a lot of responses but what i could say is when the topic is fun or where you could share your own experiences and opinions-were good so far. Maybe people would always like to share things happening in their life better than when it comes to topics like those where you can have only one common answer and it was already given by someone else. So..So what? That was my opinion after all. There would me many more telling things and explaining it differently. That's it! It all makes a discussion :)!

Hi shri I discussion isn't a discussion without the responses and comments that follow. Those are what make a discussion indeed. Exchanging opinions about the topic and making back and forth ccmments with as many Lotters as possible, all of the discussing the topic, is where the fun lies here

A discussion doesn't depend on the topic?? How can it be? It'll depend on the topic that how many responses you get and hence, it turns out to be a discussion. Yeah,, that's right. People would like to share things rather than answering a discussion with one answer that's already answered. I think I experienced that!!

Well i told above that "A discussion just does not depend on the topic" I hope this makes more sense.Guess i should make use of my underlining and bold features now and then!It depends on all-the responses and the comments-i just said that.I would be happy if you read the whole response clearly.. And that's the nature of people! Now i could give my view here, and someone else could give out something more! These are the interesting discussions...

What is boring to you might not be boring to someone else Personally I would not paricipate in a topic about aliens because I have no knowledge about them at all - though on second thoughts, I am probably surrounded by them and just hadn't realised I think myLot is about having fun and that could happens on a frivolous topic or one of a more serious nature. It depends on the mood of the people participating at that paricular time. "What do you think about this discussion? Long or short?" Erm.., yours is not a discussion, yet. You have posted a topic for discussion and we won't know the outcome until it gets moving. That part is up to you with your comments when others place responses

I do agree with you that how people respond will depend on the mood at that particular time because when I'm mylotting and if I'm bored, I don't feel like responding at all. Then I sign out. Ok,ok, Its not a discussion yet!!!! I was just curious about what people like to respond.

I haven't come across a day when I don't feel like responding at all but there are days when I don't feel in a jolly moddo, soI have to watch how I respond or it might come across in a way that I wasn't intending. I have never logged out because of my mood yet either. Sometimes just reading thtough the discussions I come across something that makes me laugh, or become sadder, and then I start typing too. I think the general mood of myLot as a whole depends on who is logged ina dn posting and what has happened the day before too. Yesterday mylot was down and many right now seem still to have that in mind and I don't see fun topics yet. But it's early in the myLot day I guess

We have different preferences, we are all different here my friend. See i have come to realize that there are patient ones and not patient ones here, there are ones who would really read your discussion and appreciate it no matter how long or how serious it is and would patiently respond too... which i love because there are plenty of those here.. there are also ones who avoid those as they say they are here for the fun, which in my case i also respect right, if you give respect they will respect you back.. so do not hinder yourself, if you want long serious ones or short funny ones or whatever just post it as long as you mean it and it is of quality and you are not doing it for the sole purpose of earning...because if you do you will not be appreciated at all..

I think that we all have more importanf things to do rather than be here. I went out and di the shopping after I posted my response above and now I am cooking in bewtween posting too I flick through the notifiers and the new discussions though and always find something to participate in, and even more so after I have had something to eat

It's like scolding me. Yeah, I guess its not all about earning. You share your experiences and happiness, sadness, feelings and you feel they care as long as you are a mylotter. At least you get consoled like that, eh? I guess there are lot more to learn about mylot. Even though it's been quite a time I'm mylotting, I'm not much into it 'cause I have an important thing to do. Well after that I'l be free.

The topics are interesting or not depends on my mood in that day. Sometime i am so patient to read all long topics/discussions, but sometime i don't. When i am not patient to read long topics/discussions, i just ignore it and find another that is match with my knowledge. Actually long or short topics/discussions doesn't matter, as long as the content is interesting and i have idea to discuss about it.

I perfectly agree on this!

Me too, I too agree with this. Long or short as long as you are interested in it doesn't matter.

Hmmmm...To answer this, any individual has a preference and liking of their own. So even if they are after the money, there will be biases on what discussions they will be participating in here. Nobody wants to get in to a boring discussion because it is not in their best interests and it can also affect their earnings because they won't be able to participate well in such discussions. But regarding long discussions posted, you shouldn't generalize them as boring ones. People have preferences and some will be interested in the topic no matter how long the started discussion post is. Such posts are just not for those interested or half interested at that. Sometimes, short discussions are a no brainer too because not much is said about making it harder to prolong the discussions.

Yeah, that's right. More than the length, the topic matters more.

you are right. At first, i see mylot as a site to make money, but if you are going to think like that, logging in here in mylot will be boring, commented to some discussion and post a topic here, i received a lot of comments which became fun for me, beside of the fact that mylot gives higher payment than the other paying sites it, it became a social networking site to me. It's also fun to know what others are thinking in the question that you would like to ask them xD
