Weird Facts About Star Wars

United States

I am trying to learn more about the movie Star Wars, as I read some interesting facts about the movie in an article on Yahoo. I was wondering how many weird facts do people actually know about the movie. One of the facts I know is in a scene where the Millenium Falcon is flying by the camera. George Lucas actually used a sneaker to create this special effect. Who else is a fan of the Star Wars series, and who can tell me the most interesting facts about this movie franchise?

One of the strange things about the Star Wars series is that at one time it was supposed to have 9 movies. There were supposed to be three more movies in a time frame after the first three. Lucas now denies this but there are a number of references to the last three films that you can find online.

It's been almost 40 years since the first movie came out although it was re-released with more computer effects added. You are correct about the original plan, however, Lucas has no plans to make those movies now and even denies that there were plans.

He probably wants to save them for his kids. He's getting up there in age, and his kids are set to inherit the rights to his creations. At some point those movies will come out.

I've heard that the movies are supposed to be released after the first three and they involve the children on Princess Leah and Han Solo. The rumor was George Lucas was planning on waiting 10 years so a future generation could fall in lovew ith Star Wars.

There are loads of wild things about star wars. One of my favorite little pieces is the mistaken scene of a stormtrooper banging his head in A New Hope. So funny the first time you see it. If you like things about the sound, then do you know the wilhelm scream? Lucas used it a bunch of times, with characters falling to their demise, but it was originally "Man gets eaten by alligator" in a movie from around the 1950s. Here's a good place to go to find loads of little errors. Look up any of the movies to see what they have behind them, too; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076759/trivia?tab=gf

This is the kind of stuff I love to know. Its nice to know the producer had a sense of humor when making the film.

I am not a big star wars fanboy, so i don't know much. I did however find out that today is star wars day, since everyone in my office is walking around saying "May the 4th be with you". Pretty goofy if you ask me, but I never really gave the films a chance.
