Of the things that you want to do in your life? Or maybe a bucket list of the things that you want to try and need to do so that you can die peacefully? I really don't know what hit me to start this discussion. I'm in such a reflection state that I really don't know what direction I am going already. That is why I think that I have to reflect on my goals right now to focus my energies in doing the things that I want to do in life. However, I am having a hard time thinking what I really want to do. So here I am trying to look for ideas from you guys to give me on some things that I just try to do in the course of my life. As of now, my list only include trying to become a millionaire. Then after, nothing follows. That is why I am focused on just trying to be a millionaire, but that takes time and I would like to add some tasks that I can while waiting to finish that goal of mine. Another thing on my list is to try bungee jumping. Maybe some myLotters out there can help me fill up my list. Or even share some ideas that they have on their respective lists. I would really appreciate any ideas or things to do which is challenging, noble and interesting. I am really on a crossroad and identity crisis right now, so I better shape up my things to do before I die before it is too late! Care to share those things that you want to do, planned to do and dreamed to do? I might want to try and want, plan or dream to do those things too.

I used to want to do alot of traveling. Wanted so badly to see Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Mann. But then I commited to help my daughter raise her son and I realized I probably won't make it. I would also like to see the Mackinac Island off the coast of Michigan where Somewhere in Time was filmed. Also would like to parachute, hot air balloon ride, etc.

My life has changed a lot since I was diagnosed with a lymphoma. The kind I have has a good side (slow grower) and a bad side(there´s no cure for it). So that the feeling of immortality has left me completly and now I have goals that go for 3 months at a time at the most. But I have discovered that mind has a way of dealing with that: I don´t have now the same interests I had before. I´m not asking myself anymore what do I want to do "when I grow up". I ask myself what will I do tomorrow, providing that I have the energy to do it. Mylot helps a lot. It provides company only if I´m able to be here. So, after all, I suppose that the only lists I´m making now are the grocery lists

I did not make lists of any kind when I was young. And I could also manage to do several things at the same time. Now I say I´m like a war prisoner: I know my name and rank (Identification number). The rest escapes me. I will not learn any more phone numbers ever. When we are young we think of climbing the Everest or going to the moon. Later on, we feel that it has been a feat if we walk to the nearest supermarket, 4 blocks away.

Well, yes. You do have a point at that. That is why I am rushing to do my list while I am still young and able to do such activities. I am afraid that I am wasting so much of my young years without even experiencing or doing some things to do while still at the young age.

Whoa! Yeah! the grocery list is acceptable at that! Yes, maybe I should have set a time frame. The bucket list is a bit general with a broad timeframe making it difficult to answer. Maybe, that is why I am also having a hard time of thinking for such things to do because I am looking at the big picture and not at the small ones first. Now I get the idea of thinking for those things to do one day at a time or maybe just a monthly goal setting. Thanks for giving me that idea and way of thinking. I really appreciated that! I really don't do grocery lists, maybe I should try doing one then.

On one angle I am fortunate in that at 41 years of age I can honestly say that I have achieved everything I have set out in achieve in my life and if I was to die tomorrow I would be content, on the other angle because I was diagnozed with clinical depression an anxiety disorder I spend most of my life indoors. So in a way I got a lot done and most of my dreams fulfilled before I got depression. I am not at all adventurous and my travel spirit I have curbed. I guess there is only one country that I would love to visit and that is Sweden.

I guess the most satisfying things I have done, may sound simplistic but to me were great achievements, Learning To Swim Learning To and Passing Driving Test Being able to touch type Going to a foreign country on my own Getting on a plane (it took 26 years to find the courage to get on a plane) Buy my own home (albeit shared at the time with my partner) Get Yellow Belt In Martial Arts These are the main ones again they may sound simplistic and unadventurous to others but to me they were important and great achievements.

Good for you that you are quite satisfied already about the the things that you have done. However, it might be so much better if you didn't catch that depression you are mentioning as you may have continued to fill in more achievements still. So what are the most satisfying activities or things that you have done before. I can use some of your ideas and your past experience to help me out in my bucket list.

hi! when we were young, there were so many dreams that filled our minds. when we get older, there are so many realities that filled our time... and our dreams are set aside when we have time to spare from the busy schedule we have set from work, family and a bit of social life. happy are those who have fulfilled their dreams. i have made some list too. there are big stuff and small stuff. i made a list of short-term goals and long-term ones. my list pertains to physical, professional, financial, family, love, activities, travel etc. it also includes things that i've been meaning to do but haven't done yet. when i was in highschool/college, i had written short poems and short stories but i have never published them. when i showed an agent a 50-page story i wrote for a paperback/pocketbook submission, she never returned it back to me and made a lot of excuses. i was young and naive at 18 that time. then of course, school then work happened and by then who had time to pursue those? hehe but i love writing and i hope one day i get some of my stuff published. years ago, i have written a declamation piece for my nephew based on his true story and he won first place in his school. later i made a short video production of the same declamation piece for my sister in her masteral course in UP and earned her top marks. i made 2 write-ups for my niece's laptop grant and my nephew's scholarship grant. both won the grant, i'm so happy for them. i also joined a short true-story contest and was a finalist with a little consolation prize on the side. i was ecstatic like i have won first prize. hehe it was my first time to publish something under my name. (excluding those in my former company's newsletters wherein i wrote stuff every quarter issue.) this time i'm planning a blog where i could write all i want. lol and mylot has been a good practice for me. i realized that this writing goal of mine has been coming true all these years little by little (and i realized the bucket list doesn't come true in one go... hehe). i still want to do a novel someday. i did a few drawings a long time ago. my korean student borrowed and submitted those as a sample for her art subject in an international school and passed it off as her own. i didn't know. unfortunately, the school made it as part of their art exhibit and i never got it back. lol so for the bucketlist, i'd be doing some art. could be drawings. could be painting. but it could also be photography. then when i learned some, i would like to teach other kids someday, like a workshop of sorts in my own art studio at home. one of the many community works i planned on doing. i know my way around the kitchen doing simple stuff, but later i would want to learn to bake and do gourmet dishes. local travel... i've been to all regions in our country (mostly due to work) but i wanted to play tourist in bohol, palawan and batanes. so far, we have visited bohol last year and now we're planning either palawan or batanes this year. i would want to visit batad again and also sagada coz it's been a long time since the last. i would love a road trip. i missed the opportunity to go to pagudpod with my bro's family for 1 week because i was doing some work. but if that had been palawan or batanes, i'd definitely take a vacation. hehe europe (tuscany, rome etc) and another visit to my favorite jeju island in south korea... also in my list. cherry blossoms either in south korea or japan. a field of tulips (holland lol) and authentic italian cuisine in an italian province. i love to travel and experience different cultures, sample cuisine, learn the language etc. i thought it was only in books i read or browsed in the internet. it's a great experience to actually be in the places you read about and meet lots of people in the process. i have learned a little korean and indonesian languages and would like to brush up on that plus maybe learn italian language. would come very handy in future travels. hehe my rose garden... i want an entire garden of roses. right now we have 3 potted plants but the orchids and other flowers are getting more beautiful. still i want my rose garden. hehe i did zipline before. exciting and scary at the same time. i wondered on bungee jumping or sky diving. but i don't wanna do it alone. hehe i did whaleshark interaction before so perhaps dolphin interaction would be nice next. dance... uhmm swing. musical instrument... maybe guitar or piano, drums would be fun. sports... take swimming lessons coz i can only swim a little. some in my list in the romance/love department are a bit personal to share. hehe the material things in my list to have are often connected to the financial goals that is always a work in progress. the list under health/physical/personal is a daily work in progress. i have to keep healthy to keep doing stuff to reach my goals. but i'm getting there. since you are in a state of reflection, think back on the things you wanted to do if you have the time and resources. think back the stuff that would make you happy to do or to be a part of. it can be little stuff. it can be things you used to do before you got busy. goodluck there... and sorry i got carried away in writing... hehe this is not even half of it.

No!No! Just pour it in! I did get a lot of ideas from what you have written in here. You must me a do-it-all kind of woman! I envy that you already got a lot of experiences in life that I am wanting to also have. What you have written out really made me think and reflect. Sorry if I replied on this one late. I know that your post will be meaningful and I don't want to hurry myself to read it out during the weekdays when my time in myLot is limited. So I opted to read this out on a weekend and reply here with much of my time intact. From your accounts, I can say that you have filled in your years with about a bit of everything life has. Maybe, I can't pursue on the writing career. I can say that I don't have much talent on that. Engineers like me are generally bad at this one. But I admire your talent. You must try to be a freelance writer too. Good pay and also you can really share your most valuable thoughts and opinions out to many readers as well. My sister in law does that. Good for you that your writing endeavor is shining right out! For travels, there are a lot of places I would love to go to. But I really don't enjoy views and sceneries in travels. I only travel for the experience and the activities unique to different places. Been in Bohol just last year and like you, we are planning to go scour Palawan this year. For travel abroad, I have yet to have a passport!Haha! But it will come. By the way, what is your line of work? Your work seems to be very interesting for travel frenzied individuals. I love to do drawings too. But the best I can do is to doodle around during classes before!Haha! But when I was a kid, I often create my own comics and let my nephews and friends read them out. But being busy as a grown up, I have stopped drawing ever since. Maybe I should restart again that one. For the garden idea and the kitchen, they are really not my thing. Haha! I have tried upside down zipline, and I would love to try bungee jumping and sky diving. Maybe in the near future. I already added them up in my bucket list. Yeah, I should've thought about trying to learn some activities. Well, like you, I only swim a little, so learning how to do it properly should be included in my list. I know a little about playing the guitar. I tried to learn to attract girls during my school days. Haha! Now I got some ideas from you. I should try to categorize my bucket list and split them up accordingly. Thanks for sharing a lot of valuable insights in here. I am pretty much overwhelmed by your enthusiasm to share your ideas thoughts and experiences out. I can really be sure that what you write or post around is something I should be hearing out.

I guess I really don't have a list of things that I would like to do before I die. I'm interested in hearing if other mylotters have one or not. I do know that I have goals and things that I want to accomplish out of my life. I know that the majority of them are reasonable and I think when I set reasonable goals for my life it's easier for me to be happy when I achieve them.

Yes, that's the point of it. Maybe you can suggest some rare activities or once in a lifetime tasks that is worth doing? I am still at my twenty's and is in dire need of things that a twenty individual should have already done or be doing before it is too late and become already old not to be able to do such things. Maybe like bungee jumping, mountain climbing or things like that. Maybe some adventure trips or other things. Maybe I am just not clear on what I would like to know and there are a lot of general things to do out in there. Well, the fact is, I really don't know what activities or things to do is really out in there worth doing.

That is a good idea. I hope that I will someday be able to go on a cruise, and travel to a place by train. I think that would be a nice trip. I was looking at some train trips this morning and they really are expensive. I wonder how many people actually travel by train for a vacation. I know a lot of people like to take cruises because they are reasonably priced.

Hmmm..seems that life's bucket list tends to change as we grow old. From the answers that I have read, the list seems to be varied depending on the age or status in life. I can observe that me as a young and single individual tends to put up a list of adventures and other thrilling activities. However, as one grow older, the lists become that of a matured individual focusing on family and life in general. Really do make sense. So I must maintain my list and see how it grow out too as I age also. Thanks for your insights roshigo!

Well I think we all go thru times in our lives where we reflect and look back at everything that we have done, and see if there are things we wish we could have done but have not, or what we should focus on accomplishing from here. It might even give us time and hope to start planning for things as a vacation, etc. and offer time for us to be able to relax a little more as well. Personally I think this is a Good thing and one we can all learn from as well.

Yeah! That kind of feeling is the one that I am wanting to avoid. That is why I would really love to hear from the experienced people what are on their bucket list and see if I have missed out wonderful things to do in my own. Something like copying from others ideas is my case.

I don't have an actual list, but I do often think about what more I would like to get out of life. I am one to think that things will get done (more likely) if you write them down . . . but geez, I guess I need to put writing a bucket list on my list - ha ha! I can say trying to become a millionaire - but that's not going to happen anytime soon for me - I'd rather put short term goals (like how I could make more money now, how I would save more money now, just when I would look for an actual job, etc) - and make them happen. That way, I'm checking off each little step instead of not seeing that big goal never checked off (as if it were far, far away from ever happening). Good luck with your bucket list!!

I am really planning to set some long term and short term goals. I think that in my situation now my things to do are still achievable. However, I need to realign my short term goals to meet my long term goals and that is what troubles me with thinking about my list. Anyway, I am just looking for ideas or things to do on others list to see if it suits me up or interests me to also do the same. Yes, writing it gives a visual impression and reminder for motivation. I have read from some books that I have read that goals should be written and recited everyday so as to be sure that it won't be forgotten and always be remembered at all times focusing the day to reaching that one.

I don't have too high ambitions. Have a steady and nice relationship and a reasonably paid job I love... and I want to have a cat :). And about my bucket list... I wanna see a play in Broadway and one in Westend. I'm such a theatre freak.
• Philippines
5 May 12
Thanks for that theater suggestion. However, I am not really into such kind of activities. But I think I would like to see Broadway too. Well, having a cat can be easily achieved. But I'd rather have a dog tucked in my own house. Once, before, I wanted a tiger as a pet! Yes, a simple life can be one's goal. Tranquility and stability is also what most people seek in their life and relationships.

The list of things that I have in life is to finished my studies, look for a better job, to be a rich person and to help my family and relatives and I would also like to help other people Those are the plans that I listed in my head. The purpose of these things is like a bring back change to my parents and to my sister who were the ones who worked hard so I could continue studying until the time I would graduate. I always tell to my self that I have a great family who always supports me all the time so I would like to help them not the time I would be finished rather I would start as of now. I know some people say that these things would be impossible but I always think positive and knew it would come true.

Well I think those are general goals in life. Surely, most of us really wants the same as yours. Your goals are noble and this will surely help you achieve those things. Optimism is one great attitude to fulfill ones goals in life. I think that from what you posted in here, you got a nice future ahead.
