I used to like my debit card so much, it is so convenient for me when go shopping, don't need to bring currency and just use a card, it is so nice... But right now i think i may give up it. Some months nearly, i spent too much money for shopping or pay my bills by a debit card. I could not save even small amount money in the end of month. If still continue like this i may get big debt later. Do you guy get the same situation like me? How do you manage your money well when you use a debit card?

well, I think that you should set a limit of the money you can use by your debit card every month, like $2000, simply because, like what you said, you can hardly control yourself when you become overwhelmed by the convenience and excitement brought by using a debit card and forget about saving money. This is the most effective way to do it. When you have no money, you cannot pay for your bill :)

Thanks for your advice. But how to set a limit of the money that i can use by a debit card? Should i go to the bank and let them limit it for me?

Maybe you can hand up your debit card to your wife and apply for using the card whenever you want to use it. Haha, just joking, if you feel like pissed off.

I am super frugal when it comes to money. One way I keep from spending money is thinking of all the people who don't have money and think "is this going to affect my more than a month from now"?

I think I will spend more with a credit card since you don't need to have money in your credit card account. Most of the time I like to pay by my credit card and I only use my debit card to withdraw cash from the ATM. As the bank will charge me more fees if I withdraw cash from my credit card. So debit card is still useful for me. I need to use it to get my cash. I love China

yeah, it is very convenient to use a debit card for shopping, pay bills, withdraw money, etc. I know it ...but you can manage money well for spending, I am not good in it. it always is minus in the end of month. So that i am thinking i may give up a debit card or i should find out the good way to keep me balance with spending and my earning and save a little bit every month.

I rarely used my credit cards when its not a large sum I gonna spend.I don't overused my debit card as well. I have a limitation using them.Credit cards usually getting a high interest its really kills the budget. But its good debit card don't have any interest just swipe and spend how much you have inside of it. I don't mixed up my savings from where I'm taking my expenses.I have an individual account in each purpose and keep my savings intact every month. In fact you can limit the amount inside your debit card then you can control your spending whenever you go out for shopping. If you wish to save then set your limitations in spending and save the rest of the amount for some emergency needs. Have a nice day!

You are right, using a debit card may kill the budget. I am in this situation now... Do limit the amount inside my debit card? it is a good idea. I may have to do it soon, if not i wont have any saved money for emergency needs in my life.

Well, I believe that what are called debitcard, are pre-paid card, right? I've got one of those and I must say I am finding very well. Even the gains of Mylot, passing through Paypal, after them lying on card. I still almost never use this card to make purchases, usually used to rack up slowly, a sum of money yielder. However I'm sorry that you will abandon the debit card. You could see utilize that in a best manner.
