"Akamaru" That's the name of the dog that one of my friend will give to me. He did mention that I have to get a guard dog as I will move in my new house in Tanza. It is a subdivision. He did gave me some pointers on how to take care of it. This is my 1st time again to have a dog. I have a German Shepherd before but it was my dad's and he's the one generally taking care of the family pet so I'm quite familiar but not that much. Can you share me your best practices. "Akamaru" has the intuition of a guard dog. His master raised him NOT to be a house dog since he tend to poo and pee almost everywhere (hahaha...not a litter-friendly dog so definitely an outside dog then) and he has white long fur. Thanks and happy mylotting!

Tanza... so that means you're a CaviteƱa. I love dogs and when you said he tends to poo and pee everywhere, I though about our dog Bugs. We placed him out of the house too unlike other dogs because he can't control peeing and pooping everywhere too.

Yup; sort of. I grew up in Manila but I'm about to move in Tanza because I got a house in there due to some cheap housing plans and opportunities. My friend told me to get a guard dog so there's someone who will guard the house during the night or when I'm asleep. When I told him I can't; he gave Akamaru to me. Right now I asked him to take care of it in Fairview for the time being and I'll be picking it up in a few months by now when I go south. And of course; before picking up "Akamaru"; I would want to make sure I know now how to take care of him as we go along in the new house ^_^-) Happy mylotting; Filipina ;)

LOL! Akamaru huh? It would be cool if your dog would be as big as Akamaru from Naruto. That would be so awesome!! (*u*) I hope you and Akamaru would have a great time together, I wish you the best of luck and patience too when it comes to his attitude. :D

It is cute that your friend named your all white dog after the all white ninja dog on Naruto. You should ask your friend about the routine that he has with the dog and go from there.

LOL, Yeah; "Akamaru" came from the anime series Naruto. The master of the dog is also an anime fanatic :) I may not be an avid Naruto fan but what's cute about the dog; even with the long name; it still response and knows himself with this name. And there you go; name got stuck in my white dog ^_^") Thanks for letting me know your thoughts about the dog. It may be trained for cosplaying sooner or later... hahaha... enjoy mylotting mroe!

My friend told me that having a dog as you move in a new house is always necessary. This is to keep you guarded when you're alone. In my case; since I'm going solo, my friend who has 2 dogs will be keeping his Pitbull with them and give their other dog to me. It is 3 years old. I think the dog is still young, isn't it? But it is already like a feet tall and half feet long. I'm excited but nervous. Hope to hear more from you on how to take care of dogs. thanks and enjoy here at mylot.

Thanks! For the first time Akamaru saw me as a stranger, he didn't bark. The owner, which is my friend finds it strange. He mentioned that dog can sense loyalty of others to the owner as well. I guess that's how they sense it if it is a bad guy or a person has bad intentions; they bark and growl. The owner has decided to give it to me as I transfer to my new home; probably this September or so ^__^-) Thanks and happy mylotting~!! Go get yourself a dog, too. It's going to be rewarding ^______^-)

Sounds fun. Dogs are good to have. They can also make good guard pets. If it is an outdoor dog, then you may want to consider having a dog house, and putting out some food and water, keeping the food and water in a shaded or cool place. Also, if he is going to be outside alot, it would probably be a good idea to make sure the dog also has shade too.

How many times should I feed him? Some say it is 3. others say it should be once a day. I'm also confused. And not to mention that I'm not sure what's the breed of this dog. They don't have papers for this one but Akamaru does have a collar. Oh yeah, for sure he knows himself. Even when you call him by his long, Japanese-inspired name (the owners are anime-fanatics/ Otaku) the dog will literally come near to you ^_^-) Suites me also being an Otaku.. hahaha... thanks and looking forward to hear more from you.

the first thing you should do is to train your dog where he should pee and poo....its quite easy to train dogs for that but you should have a lot of patience.its just like teaching a kid to write and read...

I would love to have a dog too but apparently, we are not allowed to have one here at the building where I am residing. They say that taking care of a dog is like taking care of a child, you have to nurture it to its full potential. But despite all the hardwork, I am sure it is worth it. I wish I can be as excited as you, if only I could have a dog too.
