What is your needs? What do you wish to do with the netbook/tablet? Maybe you would like to answer these. It will be easier to decide once you want what is it for.

I think he is looking for a gadget that fits all, from internet browsing, joining mylot forum, games, word documents, built-in cameras and everything. But for me, the only advantage of a tablet compare to a laptop is the battery power that lasts a longer time in a standbye mode or in an operational mode. That if laptop is powered on, it takes some time to initialize prior to use.

This really is up to you, and depends on how you would use the gadget. If you are using the device for workloads, I’d suggest buying a netbook because some netbooks does have the same capabilities as that of a laptop, and it has a wider memory capacity which can be used in various office softwares/applications. Whereas a tablet, is a more simpler gadget useful for web browsing and other entertainment and gaming purposes and it’s quite hard to do some of your workloads over a tablet because it doesn’t have that standard applications for office work.
