So today I was finally getting one of my TV shows in to watch for one hour at about 3:30 p.m. and my brother was here (he's always here when he's not working), and says "Whatever happened to that show called Baggage Wars(yet another new fave tv show of his)?" Well, I said to him that I can't keep track of all the shows he watches as there are so many, (cause I usually tape them for him, God forbid if he ever got ahold of the DVR thing and started taping everything under the sun to watch at any time! I would never get to watch my shows.). But lately they (both him and my mom) have been finding a new show all the time for me to tape for them to watch, and I'm just not able to keep up. I said that to him and said I need to get my shows in there (to watch) too. Then mom chimes in as always when I'm talking to him and expressing my disapproval about something and says we have 50/50 with the TV and I watch mine too. My brother goes and says "Yea all the time". I almost laughed out loud. They are both a joke. They have the TV on for at least 4 or more hours of a day, and for me it's on average 6 hours a week. Don't they think I can do the math. What a dang joke. Whose the dillusional ones here. I swear, they are like bookends, or like one person. I'm hoping they will shut the dang TV off in a few minutes as it's been on for 4 hours straight now and will be on later for at least 2 hours again. This goes on on a daily basis, I wish they would find something else to do at night, how boring is it to watch TV for hours every evening. Yawwwwwwwwn. Then they whine that I'm on the computer for too long. Well, I make money on here and they do not from watching TV. I am so hoping to move out of here one day. Having just one TV for the entire household is lame. How much could another one cost to run, anyways???

I do understand your frustration. I started staying in my room with my depression and social anxiety. I got a nice smaller flatscreen tv and have cable throughout the house so just had it hooked up in mine too. Nice to have it to watch while I am working on here.

You need to get a place of your own so you can do as you please. One tv in a household now days is alittle odd. We have three. One my grandson just plays games on in his room and isn't hooked to the cable. One in my room and one downstairs. I love having one in my room and I think you should have one as well.

Yes I know. I do really. It is odd and that is my family in plain english, ODD. Thank you for saying I should have one, I gave my old one to my brother years ago and actually do have one in here but it's not hooked up to anything. I would need to install a second socket for it now that my computer is in here. I might as well just throw this one away now as it's outdate and everything.

It's the problem of I can't get another TV cause someone here thinks it will cost "too much". I mean, really, how much can two TV's cost. I wouldn't have it on as much as they do, but its still as if I will. I don't understand people. The guy who installed the digital stuff was surprised there was only one TV here. I feel like the Amish here at times.

Sounds like a bad situation there for you. If all won't play fair then I wouldn't record any of the shows for them unless they change their attitude. Why do you have to do it anyway?

Yea, I know. I don't do it cause I have to, I do it cause if they had free run of it all they would tape anything and everything for themself even more than they do now and I'd be left with nothing for myself at all. I have loads of shows on my DVR that I haven't gotten to see just yet cause they both have it on at least a total together of 8 hours a day, more or less. They don't see this as unfair to me, they just don't care. They are very selfish people.

It's a good thing our TV just has local over-the-air channels, leaving us with not much options to choose from and therefore giving us only very few interesting shows we deem worth watching. This is probably one of the reasons why we don't usually have to fight over one TV at home. Well, in your case, why not just download the TV shows online and watch them on your computer, let your brother and mom fight over the TV.

I had been thinking of using Hulu as my TV source but it's just not the same, I don't wanna use my computer for everything under the sun, I already use it for social networking, making money and other hobbies. I doubt they will ever fight over the TV, they seem to have the same interests in TV.
