Are you a Jedi? Should 'The Force' be a religion?

I'm really surprised that more people haven't done this and I'm surprised it hasn't taken off. When I was little and the original Star Wars movie came out, I had a religious piano teaher. She used to tell me that Star Wars really was a tale about Christianity - "The Force" was really about God and "The Dark Side" was the devil. I'm surprised a church wasn't created around it back then.

I have heard people say that - and the same has been said of Tolkein and of a number of other fictions. There is no doubt that allegory is very potent.

It makes sense to put Jedi if you are feeling facetious and there is no option to put 'None'. It also makes sense if you are a Jedi.

I agree with Rie Rie, it's as good as any other religion. At least you'd know from the start that there was violence involved.

I suppose if someone wants to call it a religion, then it is. It depends what one's definition of religion is, of course. I think I already know that yours is 'something negative'.

I'm not a Jedi myself but I think it makes as much sense as any other religion. The only difference is that people know "The Force" would be based on fantasy and wishful thinking.

Then may you never encounter He Who Shall be Nameless.
