How can I increase my STAR RATING???

I've noticed; from rank 8 in my star I went back to rank 9; is there something wrong or am I doing something wrong lately?
How can I increase my star rating **the star beside my username** and is there any particular do's and don't to follow not to be back on a lower rank again? Does this also matters with the how I'm posting or answering a topic? Please help me. Thanks!

As people have already pointed out, your rating has actually gone up. The lowest rating is the one star and the highest rating you can get is the shiny blue star with the 10. Your rating and ranking in discussion interests is based on how well you discuss, how many '+'s you get from your fellow users, and overall how good of a contributing member you are to mylot and to the interests you discuss in. The way you keep your rating up is to keep doing what you're doing, making good discussions, posting good responses, and replying with good responses to other users.

I'm confused --- what do you mean, from rank 8 down to rank 9?
If that is so, then you're rating actually went up, not down.

No, on mylot the star by your name if you scroll over it is something out of 100
1 is the best you can get and i beileve it goes down to 9 or 10 I am not sure which mine has been between a 6 and 7.

this is a hard question for me. i would have to go ask GoAlice. i think that's the profile for the admin that answers questions like that. i, too would like to know how to increase my rating. maybe i got the profile name wrong. someone else jump in here and give us the right profile to admin. thanks.

You can't really do something to increase or decrease your star rating- it's just how you answer and how people here accept your answer. it is up to them whether your rating goes up or down. Just answer with all your best.

Well it is mostly up to admin, but the quality of your posts have a lot to do with it. I also believe, that your rank will go higher if you have more answers as 'best response' by the original poster...but don't quote me on that!
