Getting Old

I'm starting to develop an eye twitch, and I'm thinking as I'm getting older I'm losing more and more control of my body, so I'm wondering what other people are going through as they increase in years. What hings did you use to do, but are incapable of now, and do older people have any advice for us 30 somethings that are getting on in years.

I think a lot has to do with letting myself get out of shape, but I'm not going without a fight. I'm just concerned about this facial tick, because I'm thinking I might have something I won't recover from.

I don't know if that's something that happens when you get older. My eye will sometimes twitch and I'm 19. I've found that it happens a lot more when I'm tired or when my eyes have been strained while reading or looking at a computer screen. Hopefully it's not a sign of getting older because I think it's a little soon for that to be happening just yet

Hmm, then I would say that's the problem. My eye used to do that a lot too. I'm trying to think of the exact situations it would do it in and all I can think of is when I was tired or if I had been looking at a computer or phone screen too long. I don't think this is a problem of getting old, just eye strain!! If it still happens, try and take mini breaks every so often to give your eyes a rest

Yes I will have to try that, but still when i was younger I never had to worry about it. I did have a bit of a facial tick, but that was when I was extremely upset.

I think you might have hit the nail on the head. I do tend to spend hours on my laptop writing and trying to earn income through sites like these.

I feel so old .. Never mind ...I often have leg pains..if I sit for too long. So I have started walking and avoiding watching as well as excessive mylotting. :) I have also started taking vitamin D, Vitamin B complex, and calcium apart from occasional aspirin. :) As to your twitching, I dont think it is normal in 30s. Twitching we all feel occasionally, but very occasional. Not frequent at all. I do have some pains in my fingers so typing is BAD. :) Perhaps you are short of some vitamins. May be you can correct the situation before your eyes get affected. Please consult the doctor. In all probability it is vitamin B complex deficiency. A couple of injections will make it go away. :) take care.

LOL. I like how you threw in the excessive MyLotting comment. I guess getting off the computer a bit would help.

Well, dear friend, until the contrary is proved, time passes for everyone and actually goes in one direction! I do not know how many years have you (I think I understood about 30?), But I will have 37 of them and I can tell you that some ailment start to get it too. My teeth begin to cause problems, as well as this sometimes makes me a little sick one knee, and for two months has hurt me my right cheek. Whether I like it or not, now my doctor, I see him more often than a few years ago. This is the life!

That does it, I am so inventing a time reversal machine, so everyone can shed a few years off their body. I will learn how to reverse the aging process and stop people from getting old.

I read someplace once that the twitching eyelid is due to stress...

I am in a unique position where I do not feel stress. The most stressful thing I face is trying to figure out what articles I will write for the day.

You don't stress about money? Time? Nothing? I have to say that if you're feeling old now, you are gonna be in a world of hurt even 20 years from now. You are still so young.

Hi Phil, Just recently, I have this eye twitching on my left eye which irritates me a bit. I can relate because I'm also in my 30's. I think we need to take some, the much needed break from what we are doing everyday. I feel like that I overused my eyes already. It's been years that I constantly work using a computer, in office and at home. According to medical sites, If we are using a computer for long period of time, we need to rest our eyes every 2 hours by focusing on to something - like a flower in a vase, or the tree outside our home. Seeing anything that refreshes the eye can do something good. They say that a facial massage can also help. To be sure, I think that we need to check on with a doctor this coming Saturday. Our MDs can futher assess us if we have those deficiencies that needs to be corrected. We can make things easier Phil, we are not that old yet.

Hi Philly. I'm twice your age about. Lots of things are different. For instance, last year I developed an allergy after eating. I decided tonight it has to be the cooking oil I use. Because each time I've had the reaction and know what I ate, it was fried hamburger meat, or a pork steak. I'm going to start getting olive oil. My daughter is 36 and her eye was twitching the other day, and the doctor said it is from stress, which she does have alot of. Now when I go to do something like climbing or going down a bank to get a sign out of the water, it looks like nothing but when I start doing this, I am so careful about how I landl because of pinched nerves, bad back, etc, because I feel like i'm gokng to fall and hurt a limb or somethhing. I'm chicken now. I am on about 8 medicines now. Major one is blood pressure. Many changes will start in your body and after you understand these things, you will be happy.

It's so hard to go from picking up washers with my hands to not being able to walk down steps. I have good days once in a while where it feels like I'm my old self, so i think I might be able to get back into shape, but it will be an uphill battle. I feel like just buying a motorized scooter andcalling it a day.

I think eye twitches happen to anyone who is under stress. I also experience that when I am under stress. I see that in a 12-year-old who is under pressure.

Wow 12 years old with stress that just sounds crazy.

Maybe the twitching is not due to aging but due to some vitamin or mineral deficiency. Better check with your doctor. I read somewhere that it could be caused by deficiency in potassium or something.

That's good information. I don't eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so you might be right. It's just weird to feel something on your body move without you telling it to.

I guess getting old i something we cannot avoid. As time passes by I can also feel that I'm not getting any younger now and makes me wonder about the things I fulfilled the the things that I still want to do. We just need to enjoy everything we have right now

I've slowed down my lifestyle quite a bit so i could enjoy thing I want to more, and it has been an awesome experience. I know I won't be able to keep doing it though, because If i go any slower I'll stop moving all together.
