I know what you might be feeling as I have gone through such phases in my life. I had several articles rejected at the beginning of my writing 'career'. By the way you have only had two. What I mean to say is that it brings our self-confidence and the writing spirits down. Why only down, it nosedives! I was also so frustrated that I was seriously thinking of leaving writing for good. But how could I? After all, it was in my blood. As I picked up various assignments to write, I progressively came to know that the clients are asking for a specific number of words in an article - as you said - about 500 or so. Then they also want the content quality to not drop. At times, it is really really difficult to fill in the content and also keep the quality at its best. The SEO thing also matters a lot. That also makes a lot of difference to one's writing. I will give you an example for the same. I was writing articles on new mobile arrivals. I was asked to use some keywords which were indeed difficult to use and also keep the flow of the article in tact. I am sure you understand what I am trying to say and how difficult it can be (using nearly two opposite words together with the flow of the article looking natural). When I referred the query to my client, he said, do not worry about the flow or the meaning of the sentences in the article, just go on using the keywords at specific intervals. The article looked so odd, I tell you. But that is how they wanted the article. I am sure, this is compromising on quality. But overtime, I learnt many things and I have not accepted and written articles that need such useless filler content to make it an article of a certain length. My advice would be to not accept articles that you feel you cannot write beyond a certain word limit. That will also keep your quality high and not bring in the unnecessary frustration.

I feel bad about your article rejections. I guess it is hard to know exactly what someone wants when he or she asks you to write for them. When I get a writing assignment, I try to do what is asked of me. It makes it easier to write. I remember doing an eight page research paper in college. I did exactly what was asked. Wrote factual information and gave my opinion as requested. When I got it back, I was two points from an A grade. I asked why, and she said that it was not good enough for an A in her opinion. Imagine that! Now, I will only write in certain circumstances.

Sometimes you also have to be careful when choosing the client you write for. They might be a scam, saying that your article has been disapproved when in fact they are already using it.

hello salma07. better try another day. Sometimes it's really like that. Just persevere. i understand its really hard because you seem to have wasted your time in writing those articles but take it as a learning experience.Try to check where could you have gone wrong why they did not accept them so that the next time you will write you take extra careful and not commit the same mistakes.:-) happy mylotting!

Yes, it feels bad when the articles we worked so hard of are rejected. I had the same experience last week when I submitted 3 articles. One was approved and the other two were rejected without any reason whatsoever for the rejection. Sometimes the problem with this sites is they actually want the writer to a native English writer. Since, English is only my second knowledge, my articles often get rejected no matter if it is grammatically correct with good content. Don't give up since there are certainly many sites where you can submit your work. Rejection is always a part of the life of a writer but as we get better we have more open opportunities.
