Chelsea have won the Champions League, defeating Bayern Monaco 5-4 at the "Allianz Arena"(new stadium built and after inaugurated in year 2005)after the penalty shootout. The Bavarians have dominated the match, but no score except to 8 minutes remaining, when Mueller has found the head of the right angle to beat Cech (GK). It seemed like finished when Drogba, always head, drew at 88'. In extra time, Cech (GK) saved a penalty on Robben. In the penalty shootout, decisive error of Schweinsteiger, and Drogba scores the penalty of triumph. So from my point of view should assign to Drogba, the title of man of the match! You are okay? Please share your opinions....

Chelsea played a dangerous game and let Bayern do all the attacking for most of the first 85 minutes and when Bayern scored in the 83rd minute, I thought they had made the mistake of their lifetime. But then that man Drogba again came to the party and scored the equalizer in the 88th minute. Then Robben took a poor penalty to really hand the initiative back to Chelsea and Drogba finished the job by taking the final penalty. Cheers! Ram

I feel it was unlucky for him and his team. They fail to emphasis their wining.

I wouldn't say Chelsea won 5 -4 overall. It was a draw and then both teams headed to penalties where Chelsea won 4-3 in penalties with Didier Drogba scoring the decisive winner. That being said, Tottenham is now out of the running for a Champions League spot in the next season.

The most important things to chelsea is the presence in the next champions. When Bayern score in the 83th minutes, almost everyone believe they have no chance, Drogba amazingly levelled the score. that moment was turn point and we can see that team back again.

I think that Drogba was probably man of the match and was probably the best player of the whole tournament with vital goals along the way including the one against Barcelona.

It seems like it is Chelsea's destination to win the Champions League this year. Twice, in the semi-finals and final, the opposition peppered Chelsea's goal but is unable to nick that important goal(s). Seeing how prolific the likes of Messi and Gomez were prior to the matchup with Chelsea, one wonder what happen to them. In both matches, penalties were awarded against Chelsea in important stage of the game. Yet both chances were not converted. If that is not luck, I don't know what is. As for the Man of the Match, my guess for the choice of Drogba is one for the more romantics. The Ivorian did nothing much except to score the equaliser and winning penalty. I would go for Petr Cech for the MOM. But soccer is a such a game whereby a goalkeeper can make dozen of saves but all it takes is for a striker to score the winning goal and he will grab all the glory and headline.

Penalties add to the drauma and excitement of the football. Yes one team will have heart ache but that is life, even if it did not go to penalty.

Chelsea Won UCL - Chelsea won the Champions League
Chelsea has won the Champions League. Although outplayed for most of the match by Bayern Munich, they remained steadfast, never for a minute gave up the fight. To equalize in the 88th minute after conceding at the 83th minute was so jaw-dropping. They simply would not stopped trying. Every Chelsea player was a hero. They were lucky yes. But they still needed to put the ball inside their opponents' goal to win. That required more than luck. I am glad they won. Bravo the Blues!
