i found an interesting aspect about our mylot profile. I saw one of our senior mylot member's profile to check up about his age. it was showing 66 and that is his age. he has become a member five years ago. I thought he would have updated it because i found his profile was updated recently.
I rushed to my profile to change my age. I gave 60 years as the age when I joined as a member. Now I am 62 and I wanted to change. Alas, there was no need. It had been updated automatically by mylot server.
I know in our profile items like "discussions started, posted, interests etc" get updated. I wasn't aware that age also will be updated automatically by mylot server.
Have you noticed any such interesting feature about mylot profile. Please share. have a good day.

Yes they update our age - but they never send us any birthday greetings or flowers though 
At the bottom of our profile it says: "profile last updated XXX ago" but that information doesn't update correctly.
I update my profile almost daily, adding new things and removing older ones, but it is saying that it was three weeks since the last time

No idea but it is annoying that it does not update.Tthe site that I added yesterday was not even launched three weeks ago so I couldn't have put it there then

I think it is a suggestion that my lot program can be suitably altered enabling a greeting to our email id on the birth day given.
Why it is not telling it is updated " a day back" and gives " three week ago". may be a software problem. good day.

I think most sites will update our age if we have a profile in there. Mylot will update our age automatically also.@ravisivan (14079)

Hi ravisivan
I have noticed the age update and also the profile update thing happen automatically. But there is a weird thing on my profile - and hope that this is happening with others too... Despite I have only 4 pages of friends (so that number should be about 120 friends assuming all 30 per page) my profile shows me more than 160 (162 friends to be exact). This can be misleading to many as I have always mentioned I havent crossed more than 150 friends at any point during the past years of stay here at MyLot.

For me this problem is not seen. number of friends given is ok. number of pages difference is there.
These are small issues which i am sure will be taken care of.

Well on most sites where they ask you to put in your age, they all update automatically. I don't think I ever came across a site that did not update that information. It seems natural to me for the site to automatically update things. MyLot is, in my opinion, the best of the best social forums on the internet. I love how different it is from all the rest.

yes mylot is a separate lot from the main lots. we members are enjoying in and out of experience in mylot.
it is nice to see that various pages likes interests, ranking, age etc. get updated periodically.

Hi ravisivan,
Quite interesting, yes sites that asked us information about our birthdate automatically updates our age. It is already there and being calculated. It is just up to us whether we want to show or hide our ages.
What I like with myLot is that we can put an html code on our profile to make it look nicer or add banners on it.

nice to know about what 'ravisivan' means. Is it your real name or only a codename? AS for my name it's actually mylene, no meaning at all... but let me search sometime... I spelled it backwards so it became enelym

You (well all of us actually) only have the (!) on our own posts because we can only rate others and not ourselves.
The (!) is for reporting abuse. If, for example, we have connetions problems and we post something twice, we can use the (!) to report the duplicate and admin will remove it.

thanks for the response. I was in Mumbai from May 10 to 12 in connection with a marriage held at Chembu Jain marriage hall. we were staying in Chembur Gymkhana. We made a small shopping in Chembur. We went to Prabha Devi Siddhi Vinayak temple on 10th.
Mumbai -- appears to be much bigger than what I had in my mind--last time before this I visited in 1978. People were all very busy. it takes a lot of time for travel from one place to another.
Now I have come to know myLot updates even age. that is nice.

I've never actually paid attention to this, but I also have to say that it is a fact that really doesn't surprise me all that much. The reason that it doesn't surprise me is that I vaguely remember putting in my birthday including the year that I was born when I first became a member of mylot several years ago. Because of the fact that I put all of my birthday in when I joined, I would assume that they would update my age when my birthday comes every year.

Mylot updates your age automatically on the basis of the birthdate you have provided while joining, there is no need of updating it.

I saw your profile only and saw the age as 66 and I know your age is 66. You joined five years back mylot. I was thinking you would have updated and after that only I went and saw mine. After that only I started this discussion to inform others. thanks for the response.

many of us who ae 50+ may not mind revealing the age. My age is 62. reverse --26 very nice. I was in West Bengal as Manager of a bank branch. no regrets. I have travelled a long road with not many obstacles.

I think most or all sites that have this age displayed for our profile would auto update our age, because i've never joined a site that didn't do that. I mean, who the hell even care about that ? Especially members. It's a different story if the site is a dating or social networking site.
