When you really like some book. That when you finished reading it.You couldn't wait to get your hands on the next book in the series? And when you check for it.They say that it will be released only after 6 months.? It really is frustrating. This is what is happening to me right now. Has this ever happened to any of you guys?

This sort of thing causes constant sorrow for me. Generally, I try to stay away from books in series unless they are all already written, precisely because I cannot stand to have to wait for the next book to become available. Most recently, this happened with the series on World War II, by Jeff Shaara. I read the first few books, then had to wait nearly a year for the last one in the series. Now, I am impatiently waiting for the 2nd book in Ken Follet's current series. Follet is one of my favourite authors, and I knew going in that it would be a painful wait. I read the first book in the series, Fall of Giants, a year ago, and have just learned that the second book is due September 2012.

Yes, I suppose I shouldn't have read it. He is one of my favorite authors, and I just couldn't resist. But next time, maybe I can have the more resolve. It sounds good that you have an 11 volume series to read.

I'm waiting for A Song of Ice and Fire. It's fantastic but the author writes too slow.

All the time; but, fortunately I have several different authors whose series I am reading and ususally at least one of them will have a new book out. My problem is when I have two new books in different series that are out at the same time - which one to read first!

I loved a series of books as a super-young child called "The Unicorn Chronicles" by Bruce Coville. I was so young my Mom read the first book to me because I couldn't read, and I LOVED it. I waited patiently for the next book. And patiently for the next book. Five years passed, and it finally came out! I read it and I loved it too, but it ended with a bad cliff hanger and I was eager for the next book. Time passed, and what with one book and another... it passed to the back of my mind. NINE YEARS LATER, the next book in the series comes out! lol I loved it too, but it also ended with a horrible cliffhanger. Thankfully it was only 2 years to the publication of the next book. I still love the series, despite the long wait between books, and I feel it was well worth it. It's a little annoying to love a series and have to wait for the next book. But I will never complain about a publication gap of six months. Six months is NOTHING. To pass the time, I read and find other books that I love. Hopefully the next book will be out and I won't even notice the wait, and if it's less than 2 years I probably won't notice.

That happened to me with the Eragon series. I got realy frustrated and moved on to something else. I think that is why I'm always a little late on picking up the newest thing. I read the Twilight series just before the last book came out. Waited for the movie of the Hunger Games before I even read the first book.

I loved it. The very end is a bit dull but the story is good. :) i did go to see the movie as well and was glad I had read the book first because many things in the movie were unexplained.
