Pasta is fairly easy to cook and "blends" well with other ingredients. I like to make "one pan meals" when I am in a hurry or too tired to cook something more complicated. For example...buy some ziti pasta, or farfelle (bow-tie pasta) or even elbow pasta (those are all shapes of pasta). Cook the pasta according the the package directions. However, I always add about 2 or 3 tablespoons of olive oil or corn oil to the water to keep the pasta from sticking. While waiting for the water to boil (and after you add the pasta) the pasta to cook. You should prepare the "main" part of the meal...you could use ground beef, or chicken or pork or a mixture of these meats...put the meat you choose aside for the moment. Put together some veggies you like...and chop them up...things like onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, even broccoli and cauliflower. Chop up the veggies...Start by cooking the "harder" ones first like the onions and the peppers by putting them in a large frying pan with some olive oil or corn oil. Let onions and pepper cook till softened. Add in the broccoli and/or cauliflower...cook till softened, but not mushy. Then add in some garlic that's been minced (chopped very, very small)...add in spices like oregano, basil, (these can be bottled, not fresh), garlic powder, salt and pepper. After the veggies are basically cooked add your meat to cook (put more oil if necessary). Once the meat is thoroughly cooked add some tomato sauce at least 16 ounces to make sauce, but not too saucy because you're not making spaghetti sauce. You just want to bind all the ingredients and then have some sauce to coat the pasta. Drain your pasta. Put the meat and veggie mixture in the pot you used to cook the pasta. Add the cooked pasta, mix it all together and voila...there's your main course. Add a side salad, some bread and dinner is ready to go.

This is the answer I'd give you first, then check out the internet. There is so much information and tutorials online you can't miss. If you can boil water you have the potential to be a great cook. don't be afraid of trial and error. God bless

I usually follow recipes that I saw on TV or I've read in the internet. If I find the recipe easy to prepare, I usually copy it right away. Like this morning when I went to my OB gyne while I was waiting for my turn, I was able to watch this cooking program and find the recipe easy to cook. After my ultrasound, I went straight to the market which is just a few walks away. I bought 1/4 kg prawns, 3 cups coconut milk, tomato sauce, garlic, onion, ginger, bird's eye chilli pepper and eggs. I just saute the garlic, onion, ginger and chilli pepper then added the coconut milk and tomato sauce and added the prawns. I let it simmer for 10 minutes then put a beaten egg. Just added salt and pepper to taste then let it simmer for another 3 minutes. That is what we ate this afternoon and my husband loved it. It find it easy to prepare and is not complicated like other recipes.
