My cactus is dead....

I planted one cactus in a small pot in my working place last year. It was very nice till last week. It was very hot during a week and i forgot to water it in a long time,....so that i did water it too much, water is keep on the plate that i put under the pot. I just leave it there and didn't see it for few days. Today, i think i may water for it a little more...but whole cactus is yellow, it is not green as previous time. I check all on it...Oh, no....it is rotten inside. It is dead already... I feel sad...
