http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10ej46Mhshg We all say thank you, and then we eat burgers and hot dogs. Do we think about what each man and woman that we thank this day go through? I cried when I first heard this, I cried again today when I listened. The price of Freedom is hard to bear. Do I feel like my country is always right? No. Anyone who reads my posts knows that. Do I feel like our soldiers do what are asked of them out of love for their country, yes. Today is not the day to bash anyone who is willing to lay down their life and limbs for our country. There are forces at work in the world who want to destroy The USA and any country that allows men and women to think for themselves, act for their own interests, own their own property, believe in their own religion, and vote for their own leaders without fear. Our soldiers are fighting for US. God bless them. Please do not post to this discussion if you are going to negate or bash what our servicemen and women are doing for us.

I cried, too. My brother was killed fighting in Viet Nam. He deliberately drew enemy fire so the rest of his platoon would have a chance to escape. This made it almost fresh again. When I think of people like that who give their all, believing in this country and the freedoms we had... Nobody had ever bash a serviceman to my face. I'm not the fighting kind, but I don't know how I would react. Enough said.

I'm sorry, Peavey. Someday you'll have a joyful reunion with your brave brother. It's unfathomable to me how there could be such noble spirits among us when we see so much deceit, dishonesty, violence, hate and just plain evil on a daily basis. People like your brother--and all our brave warriors--are the best of the best.

Thank you. They are the best of the best. We too often forget that there are people like that when, as you said, all we see is deceit, dishonesty, violence and more. Thank God for them.
