So the season ends with another cliff hanger. This time it's an explosion an d we're lead to believe somebody died. At least that's what they seemed to be telling Ducky which then seemed to cause him to have a heart attack. So now we have to wonder, who died? Was it anyone of importance? As far as I knew, all the main actors were under contract for another year including David McCallum. So we have to assume that even Ducky should be back for another year. Jamie Lee Curtis may also have a more prominent role. The team really hasn't had a profiler since Kate died and she didn't really get to do much profiling. What do you think is going to happen? So the season for NCIS Los Angeles ends with an explosion and we're lead to believe someone might have died. What a unique plot device!

This isn't the first time something like this has happened. The end of season 2 (or was it 3) of Castle ended with Beckett's apartment being blown up, as well. In fact, it seems every season of Castle ended with Beckett appearing to have been killed so NCIS isn't the first to think of this sort of ending for a season. Frankly, I am sick of the cliff-hangers and two-episode plots. I like to have my episodes end with closure, which is why I avoid soaps. If the writers for NCIS were hoping to have me on the edge of my seat waiting for next season to start, they are going to be sorely disappointed. I love NCIS...the original with Mark Harmon, not the LA version with Chris O'Donnell. I tried watching LA but it failed to keep me interested. The plotlines were just a bit over the top for me and as much as I love Linda Hunt, I just could not stick with the show. My biggest complaint is that my favorite shows are no longer weekly. They may have 26 episodes per season, or as few as 13 these days and that is just not enough! Even with adding more shows onto my watch list, I still end up with time on my hands. I wish that these shows would put out at least 36 shows per season!

I watch all my shows online so I'm not held to the broadcast schedule. I have about ten of them that I watch faithfully and I like to watch at least one every night. Seeing as there are seven nights in a week, ten shows should keep my schedule full but they don't. It is so hard to find decent watching these days! Still, it was nice years back when we knew what to expect from these shows...when they were expected and such. I don't own a TV so I avoid a lot of the trash on TV like the "reality" viewing that is at best boring and at worst stupid. I have never been so much as tempted to watch a single one of those shows, yet they continue to run! NCIS is a good, solid show and it has had a running that rivals all the classics of old. There was a time when it was not unheard of for a show to run ten or even twenty years. These days the average of good shows is five years. NCIS is on season 9 now? Wow! And this despite the pathetic DiNozo(sp) character. Quality will tell.

I love NCIS and the casting is excellent. My husband watches both NCIS Shows, but I'm not interested in the Los Angeles version. Ducky is my favorite character and I was glad when David renewed his contract. I'm glad the ratings are high, so the network can afford to pay the cast and bring in great guest stars. I knew about Raymond Burr, as Perry Mason is my favorite show. The newer movies with Barbara Hale and her real life son were wonderful. The lawyer that the role was about was from this state and I enjoy viewing the lawyers building.

In the early days of Perry Mason, they used to film something like 38 shows per year which is why Burr stated to live in a trailer on the studio lot. He used to get up early in the morning to memorize his lines before they started using teleprompters. The had three so that he could see one any direction that he looked. He originally auditioned for the role of Hamilton Burger but was allowed to also try out for the role of Mason. When Erle Stanley Gardner saw the tryout, he said "that's Perry Mason."

I believe that the next season has already launched in the Inuited States, with the same characters. It seemed unlikely that the producers would eradicate all the main characters in one swift blow because it is a very successful program. The success depends to a great extent on the characters, so removing them one by one may be feasible, whereas a complete change would totally it. I look forward to the next series because I am becoming fed up with having to contend with repeats of the earlier seasons.

As I said above, all the actors were under contract for this years season. You couldn't kill them all off or you wouldn't have a show. With contracts expiring after this season, it is possible some changes could occur for next year.

CBS like to do cliff hangers to their shows as these are indication that the show will continue to the next season. On the case of NCIS, I would be in favor of adding a new team member in the NCIS team.

With the show being a big hit here, adding another permanent character would probablt be a mistake. Most of the shows actors contracts will be over after this season. If they all look for big raises, it's possible the show could drop an actor because of budget reasons.

Hello burrito, It's hard to believed that NCIS is about to end, not like CSI who went on a lot of episodes and then they were other versions of the CSI in other states. maybe the viewers aren't longing for the agony anymore and the suspense has indeed got too boring now unlike before where you can actually get excited to the next scene. i think nobody likes the boring episodes now a days that prolongs the series. it was a good show while it last, i think people will keep on comparing it to CSI no matter how good it was.

NCIS is NOT ending. It is on the schedule for CBS for net fall. So is CSI.
