Our families all "look" different and it's always been so. Families are the foundation of the society. It's where we come into this world, are nurtured and given the tools to go out into the world, capable and healthy - or we aren't. While families have the greatest potential for raising healthy individuals, they can also wound their members in places that will never heal. When families break down and fail to provide the healthy nurturing we need, the effects impact not only our own lives, but also our communities.

I have started a new discussion in mylot about the topic "Family" on 27th May. I discussed the meaning of family and the value of it. Each person plays an important role in the family as well the members in the family can either build it up or break down the family bond.

Family has always been an integral member of the society. When the family is strong holds to good value and governed by very strong value system, it spills down to the society as the society is dependent on the family. Weak and divided family results in moral abuse and societal decadence. It pays when family are united are children most vulnerable in the society will get the nitty-gritty of integrating in the society. However, in how contemporary world where families are turning to be single as a result of break-up. It brings in balance on the child. Couples separate and leave children to decide their course which do not portend well to the society.
