First day of classes - Are you excited?

When I was in grade school and in high school, the first day of classes is something I look forward to. But when I was in college, I was not as excited anymore. For one, summer break was more than two months back in grade school and high school. That means, we do not get to see each other for a very long time. But in college, if you enroll for the summer term, you only have two weeks of break before summer term and another two weeks off after the summer term before the first regular semester. So, you do not really miss your classmates, teachers, and friends too much. At least, this is my experience.. For more than a decade now, I have been a witness to how students are excited during the first day of classes. They show off their new things, they share stories, and they are restless on the first few days of classes. In fact, it is not that easy to get their attention during the first few days.
