This morning, my friend, who also my co - worker was talking to 2 other ladies in other department. While I was passing, I saw her eyes were red, and she was obviously crying. I just wonder what happen to her. Late in this afternoon, she told me that her dog just died last night, and she has to bury it. After 6 years of companionship, finally, it has gone to better place. I thought there was something big deal, but I still know how she feel about it. Maybe that is how ladies were, sentimental. Anyone of you would cry your eyes out if your pet die?

I think it is just normal for her to be sad. They might be really close.

Ah, that poor, dear, woman. How she must mourn her dearly departed friend. I have certainly shed many a tear for my beloved pets who have gone across the rainbow bridge. I become very attached to my animules, especially my dogs. I think that I have a great responsibility to care for them and love them, and I am blessed with their presence in my life. I imagine that your colleague cried all the more as she buried her friend. I usually cry the most when I'm burying my dog-friends. I cannot imagine going through life unaccompanied by a dog.

Yes I have cried over the loss of a pet. After a while a pet becomes a member of the family and when they go it is like a piece of you is gone as well. I can understand how your friend feels. I have three great cats whom I treat like my children and I would be devistated if they were to die. I buy my cats toys on their birthdays and at Christmas. For Mother's Day they buy me a gift and on Father's Day they buy Randy a gift.

Well, she had her dog for 6 years, that is a very long time.. And some relationships it humans don't even last that long.. it is very understandable, since some people treat their pets as family..i haven't had a pet that lasted more than 4 months though..

i did...and i think i will cry out loud if there is bad thing happens to my cat. I love my cats so much, when i go home, i have to see them first, and i have to see them before i go to work. Currently i live alone then they are my friends even though they can't talk to me.

oh yes! your poor friend, she had a bad day and will have several bad days. our little dog is thirteen and i dread the day she leaves us, we love her so much. she is a sweet wonderful loving friend and companion. i remember several years ago i lost a cat to feline leukemia and i mourned him and was very sad at work for days. pets can be better friends than people or sometimes family members! and it is awful when other people are not understanding about that. it is wonderful that you are kind and compassionate toward your friend during this time.
