Wonder why such a pretty girl like Mary Kate Olsen wants an old man. She is smart and pretty and can have any man she wants. What is the attraction? Mary-Kate Olsen has a new man in her life — and he comes from a very famous family! The child-star-turned-fashion-mogul is dating the brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, according to reports. The New York Post broke the news that Olsen, 25, and Olivier Sarkozy, 42, have quietly been seeing each other for the last month. The couple took their romance public over Memorial Day weekend when they spent time together in the Hamptons. They're "head over heels," a source told the paper. http://tv.yahoo.com/blogs/now/mary-kate-olsen-dating-nicolas-sarkozy-brother-reports-155138163.html

while i can appreciate your concern about mary-kate, teamrose, as a forty-two year old, i am highly insulted that you are branding her new sweetheart, "old". besides, it is not like mary-kate is fifteen and he is forty-two; at twenty-five she is a grown woman. and what does being pretty have to do with it? it she were not attractive would it be alright? i think age should not matter, if mary kate and mr. sarkozy are cosying up together, unless it is a criminal matter, etc, but in this case it is not! i think we should wish them well, vive le romance!

Well would you feel comfortable with a 25 year old guy? What on earth would you have in common? At 25 her energy level has to be way higher than his. They just don't look good together, but I do wish them well.

There is nothing wrong with large age gaps. There were 22 years between my mom and my dad. The year I was born my dad was just turning 50. He was my mothers first everything, and they were happily married for 23 years, well if you ask my mom they are still married, my dad passed away in 2004. It made my life interesting, because as I was growing up people always thought that my dad was my Grandpa and my mom was his daughter, and the eldest of my half brothers (my dad had 2 boys from a previous marriage) was my dad. There is two years between my mom and my eldest brother, my brother being the younger. And I will tell you what, I aspire to have the marriage my mom and dad did, I respect both of them deeply, not just because they are my parents but because of the example they set for me growing up. My hubby feels the same way, although he is only two years my elder. If they are happy then let them be happy- love is blind and ageless.

I wonder how the first wife feels about your dad marrying someone 22 years younger, and starting another family?

Grammy took it awesomely, when my brother got married I met her for the first time and she accepted me as a granddaughter so that my three year old brain didn't get confused. To this day we are all very close, although her health is failing, and there has never been an issue. I honestly don't know why they devorced but there didn't seem to be any animostity between them. I'm curious as to why this is such an issue? Like I said before my hubby is two years my senior, our good friends have 3 years between them where she is older, and I can list a ton more happy couples with bigger gaps, both famous and regular people.

She still looks much younger than 25! =) he he While the man is twice mary-kate's age, i think there is really nothing wrong with her wanting to be with this man. it is just probably what she wants, and she is just probably the kind of woman that gets attracted to mature men. You know how it can be with younger men these days.. so unpredictable at times and well i a all for her relationship if it makes her happy. it is her choice, her life her decisions.

Of course it is her life, her choice and her decision. But as an outsider that love looking into the lives of the rich and famous, I just made my personal observation. It certainly will not change Mary Kay's life one bit.

Oh yes, i came across this article a few days ago.. it was kind of hard to believe.. But i don't think it has anything to do with money , since they seem happy together.. I don't think they will last though since many people will judge them and maybe Olsen's parents will disagree.. I hope they will be happy though..together or separately..

I don't know who Mary Kate Olsen is, but usually younger women go for older men because they have money and can give them what they want. I am not familiar with Olivier Sarkozy either, but I suspect he DOES have money (being the brother of Nicolas) so therefore fits the criteria. Simple as!

yoohooooo... no boundaries in love... my BF is, almost, twice my age. For real. I dont really care about age as long as Im happy and we still have feeling each other. He is more mature, thats what I love about him. I think may be Mary Kate looking for relationship that not only an ordinary guy who only want to hang around, if she found what she always expect of a man in mature guy, its not a big deal.

I read this article yesterday. I was not aware that Mary Kate Olsen was dating an old man. When I read the article, I could see how she was interested in dating an interesting man. I imagine that she has some trouble dating people because she may wonder if they are only interested in her for her cash. Apparently she is not as shallow as those who judge relationships based on age or looks.
