oDesk hourly rate

Philippines

Hi everyone. Just recently, I signed up at oDesk. And when I created a profile, there is a part there in which I have to set an hourly pay rate. It took me some minutes before I set it to $2 per hour. Is this pay rate okay? Or is it too low?

As I have not used Odesk I am not 100% sure what rates are on there. However I do understand the workings of the human mind. Most people "that you would actually want to work for" is looking for the middle range. Basically the average person does not want the lowest per hour person, as that says a lot about the quality of the person. Nor does the person want to pay high end, as they do not know if that person is going to be worth the money. So look over the range of pay and put yourself in the 3-5 range. Where 1 equals lowest pay and 10 equals highest range. I hope this helps, Bryan21764

Well I just felt that I have to start from low rates first because I'm new.

OK. Well, if you're comfortable with that, that's fine. However, being new doesn't mean you have to start that low. Just my opinion though. Take care...
