Watching "The Doctors" in Lifestyle channel,Monday morning, The topic is so inviting but then, when the topic regarding women acting as firefighter and also as softball player was discussed, some of the men reacted and says that "FEMINISM has gone too far." and some even mention that they wont allow it. I do respect the point of view of this men who had reacted this way, but nowadays the role of women in our society is now recognize and am not really sure if this men that was interviewed is sexist or he just hate the thought that its not all muscles that can do the task but even beauties can.We are on the equal side especially wen it comes to work. How about you fellow mylotters, what can you say about that?

Hi! Since i am doctor myself i am all in favor of women signing up for it! Though in some cases i do think its better and perhaps safer to let the man do the dealing. Firefighter or army official would definitely make good examples! Your absolutely right in that women are equal to men! But i don't think we have to assert it quite literally! Personally i don't feel the need to create a scene simply to wave my independance1 I think man and woman though equal, are created for different purposes in life! I mean if they weren't then why create two different genders in the first place! Now since they are different their mental and physical make up is adapted accordingly for their varied roles! I think we women should feel comfortable in this knowledge! I see quite a few women around me taking on roles for which they are not suited and that has created problems for them and the rest of the society just gets face the consequences! I wish my gender would act more prudently!! This is just my opinion by the way! No offense meant! No disrespect intended!!

I understand your frustration. Some people just fail to exhibit any kind of decency when talking! I believe should have adopted a more mature approach to the matter! it is this kind of behaviour which pushes us females to take such steps! Cheers!

I do not think there is anything wrong with women doing men's job. I think some men are afraid that women might overtake them sometimes to come.

I'm thinking That particular kneejerk response is kinda outdated as we're now into this second decade of the 21st Century..I'm sure there are other possible examples of Women doing Men's work, but I'm thinking of Women working in Factories in WW2 and trained in doing skilled trade work back then..one example..I'd read about The British "Carry On" Comedy Movie Franchise, that featured Actress Hattie Jacques..for a role, someone came up with the idea of her doing some welding! Prepared to have a skilled welder on the set to teach her,They were surprised to find her already familiar with welding techniques-She'd worked as A welder for a time in London during the war..!

In the present day world there is almost nothing that a woman could do which their male counterparts held as monopoly for quite a long time. Women are everywhere in most of today's activities. They are ready to exercise tough assignments.

I feel. there is nothing wrong with it all. I often see, many women are doing men's work. It was not fair, but if she was capable of, I guess not a problem.

As a guy, I really don't have a problem with women doing work that a man is usually doing. Just as long as they are capable of doing it. The same goes with guys. There are women more capable than guys doing the work. I have seen it, especially in physically demanding jobs. I know for myself, as strong as I am, there are people who can do things better than me. Since we are in a recession, and jobs are hard to come by, it really opens up the talent pool, since recessions don't usually discriminate. Some people just usually think that because men are bigger and stronger that it is the guys who should be doing the heavy lifting and the women left doing the light duty jobs, but this is old and outdated. Yes, women can do something things better than men, and vice versa, but why should we hold every back to certain stereotypes? I think women are doing a better job of adapting to a changing society than men. Look at college graduation rates. Women are outpacing men in earning degrees. I don't blame Feminism, although some of it is a bit much, but I place the blame more on men for not adapting as well to the extend of resisting change.

The lines between men and women's work have been so blurred in recent years, that it would be kind of unfair to classify something as being man or women's work. Because more often than not, both have gone hand in hand. Years ago, it was rather taboo for the woman to even leave the house into the workforce, while the man did not do the laundry or cook or help around the house or anything like that. Now if the person is capable of doing some of those things, they why should they not do those things. It doesn't matter what private parts the person has right in the end. Rather the gender lines have been so broken down and rather blurred that the phrases men and women's work are something that is a very outdated term to say the very least.

For me that is sexists. There is nothing wrong with it. Well, I really cannot blame them because they are born men and I wish they stop complaining because feminism is not going to rule over men, we are just all equal

I think that "some of men" you're talking about are egotistical and arrogant. Maybe there minds are still in ancient times.
