Hello Lotters, though we find Mirriam Defensor Santiago very amusing and intelligent. there was even a time that i wanted some one like her to run for the Presidency (again) but i think she might come out too arrogant and people to hate for than Richard Gordon himself. her words of insult is just funny and amusing to us, but i wonder what can we feel if we are in some one's situation being rage down by Mirriam Santiago. I think she has never been the same since her son's suicide. there are feelings that i have about her being mentally incapable to be a public servant. I thought it's just me, but Her critizing the Media for being a SELL out is totally uncalled for. he asked the question very fairly and she should have defended her stand instead of reacting to the question coming Niko. Her statement made me believe even more that she has lost it...

Hello Cttolledo, There's only one lawyer who actually went against her being judge there and that is this lawyer who covered her ears while she was ranting. i don't think it's professional for some one like her to do that because people can be very sensitive to boot.

I agree with you LK25, that lawyer using that situation against her. But he did not realized that his action is not acceptable.. that was inappropraite action being a lawyer.

Hi LK25 & visavis!, i agree with you guys, such action is a NO NO in court proceeding, but how about Sen Merriam? do you think she acted appropriately as a judge on that trial, was she acted in accordance with the proper ethics as a judge while in trial? Does code of ethics includes right of a judge to use insulting words towards the lawyers?.... hmmmmmmmmmm i don't think so.. In my opinion, both of them has its respective violations...

I also find Senator Santiago's rants uncalled for as well. I think lecturing a new reporter who is just doing his job is really bad in the eyes of the public. Being a public official you are not supposed to be seen as being arrogant. She was accusing the reporter of being paid off to destroy her credibility. Does she have any proof of that? She likes accusing others but when it comes to others accusing her it always looks like she is clean of any wrongdoing. Just look at her attitude I think there is something wrong with that already.

Well I do not think that she will run this coming election since she is expected to leave the country to become an ICC judge. I think this is why she is so careless already in her political career. She knows she has no future in this country being taunted as arrogant. Basing from her previous election it looks like there are still some strong supporters that still wants her in the senate.

Hello Rsa101, Probably because she was too confident that she will win again this coming election. too bad though, i didn't vote for her the last time because of Manny Villar, and there is no way i would vote for her now because of what she did. Mirriam had a rant worse compare to Richard Gordon's criticism on the Media. her statements proved that she is mentally unstable.

If she goes to the ICC and served there, I don't think she will ever dabble in politics. I don't even know why she entered that avenue in the first place. I heard that she was already called unstable from way back and I guess, it still hangs around like a ghost. Even i various forums, it is regularly mentioned but then again, who knows? The senator has her fans and detractors, just like ay sane politician there is.

well, to make matters worse for her, there is a petition to the international criminal court in the hague to reconsider her selection as a judge in that court. her actuations and pronouncements in the impeachment court were both hilarious and intellectual. she is smart and intelligent, but her belief that she is such has gone beyond her.

Hello Mensab, I mean what's wrong with a Psychological test? if she is really not an insane or mental incapacitated person, then there's nothing wrong for her to have herself examined. she only had that intelligence because of her forced studies from her parents, but i don't think she has the right to treat any one like that, i no longer find it amusing.

Miriam had not been on her tip top condition and I can say that her health is already deteriorating due to old age and perhaps also caused by the pressure that comes with her job which she is very passionate about. She's had her shining moments and what recently happened is one of those bad moments.

Partly I agree with you that she is amusing and intelligent about law and how it works. Also the way she make a pick-up.. Some people seen her as sarcastic and arrogant but sometimes she is in good mood. I think she is okay about her mind only problem is her character... I think better to someone to tell her about her character like Pnoy (president) - sure she can hear his advice but media I don't think soo

Hello Visavis, How are you? I guess you're mostly right about her Character, she doesn't understand how sensitive people is and sometimes it's not really doing her any favors. well, i don't have that much guilty on that since i didn't vote for her. Let's see on how she acts herself accordingly in the up coming days of her as member of the International Criminal Court.

I think her character would be different in ICC, she will behave there.. She become natural only if her audience are Filipino...

I don't know but I agree with her that some media and its personalities are biased. I think some people are able to pinpoint which media they think is biased and those who are able to to express news as objective as possible. I leave it to everyone which media institutions they think fall under the said categories. Besides, media is a business, I'm not wondering nor surprised if they do sell-out if it means higher ratings. Sensationalize a story or anyone for that matter is not a common thing in that industry.

Hello Jeanney, Yup I have come to know that since only 2010 Elections. I still remember how this Abias CBN network side on Noynoy Aquino simply because the big boss is a friend of the Aquinos who gave them back their company. well, i think thre's nothing new with the media being bias, of course, to their views it doesn't seemed that way.
