I just got home from the eye doctors. He did the routine eye exam, and then the retina exam. My eyes have slightly changed but he said its not worth getting new glasses over. He doesnt see any holes, tears, or damage to the retina which is good. My eyes are all blurry from the eye drops. Im sitting here with sunglasses on while on the computer, and its a little blurry. As time passes it will go back to normal sight but it takes a lot longer for me, so most likely about 10pm.

Good to hear that. Sometimes we just forget about our eyes and panic every time we feel that something went wrong. It's good to see a doctor immediately for early detection. We must not have to forget that like the rest parts of our body, our eyes needs exercise and proper care too. Eye damage can be acquired through genes but all of us are prone to it since our eye's condition depends on how we care for them.

That's good news. My eyes on the other hands have been causing me pain through eye aches and headaches. I wanted to have it checked up but I just couldn't find the time to. I mean I could, but whenever there is that time I tend to set the matter aside. The headaches aren't that frequent but can really be disturbing when it occurs. I also notice that my eyes are more sensitive to light and darkness. I guess I should really have that check up soon.

How old are you? If you are near about 40, you may have developed presbyopia and all those symptoms are the result of it. So your first duty is to go for a check up for a refractive status of the eye.

Its ridiculous the cost to see the doctor. I think it was $85.00 just for the baasic exam. OHIP pays for mine so Im rather happy, but everyone else in my house has to pay for it which is why they rarely go. I have to go yearly which is sort of a hassle, as I have to drive 45 minutes to an hour to the doctors. I dont have to get new glasses as its not a big change he said, but if I did it would be minimum $1,000 because of my lenses have to be specially made.

Hiya Ricki, Good to see that your eyes are in great condition and you got them looked at for free as well. Here we cannot do this we have to pay and a lot too and this is bad as a lot of People cannot afford this right now either so they keep putting off their eye examinations. I think that at least once a year it should be free for everyone so that this problem does not get worse. Anyway I am glad that your´s is free and you are fine. Oh yes how I hate those eyedrops I have had so many of them in my eyes you cannot imagine lol.xxx

Well, good for you.. You should not abuse your eyes so you won't need to buy thicker glasses. For me, the eyes are one of the greatest blessings of God.. so we should take care of them.

Your eyes will remain blurry as they have been dilated with mydriatric to see the posterior segment of the eye, especially the retina. It is very nice to know that retina is quite healthy. This type of eye check up at least once a year is very necessary after a certain age.

Congrats on having healthy eyes! I always loving hearing such things at doctor's appointments. It leaves me feeling great all day. I know what you mean about the drops, after an eye exam my eyes are usually sensitive and blurry for the remainder of the day. It sucks, but it's worth it to know that my eyes are healthy, and functioning properly.
