Hi, I have never gotten a professional massage, but I am thinking about spending the money to do it. I don't know much about them, however. I often have back pain so I think maybe a massage could help my body feel a lot better. A place near where I live offers "Thai Oil Massages." It is pretty cheap so I am thinking about giving it a try. To those who have tried getting a professional massage before, how was it? Was it worth it? Any experiences you want to share? Please feel free to, thanks.

Hello and good day. As for me. I love going to massage. At least twice a month depending on how my body feels. FYI, i've just taken up fitness and bodybuilding and massage is a good way for me to recover faster from my intense strenuous activity. I don't know where you come from or where are you staying but at my place here there's a lot of "hanky panky" activity happens at a "cheap" massage parlour if you know what i mean. From my experience going to such cheap places if you're unlucky, you will get a raw inexperience massage therapist or masseuse. He/She knows the basic but doesn't know how to apply the massaging technique properly. You might feel good but you won't cure the back pain that you were mentioning. I recommend you ask around about a proper massage parlour. Like me, i'll go to a reputable massage parlour run by blind masseuse. (ask if they have blind centre massage parlour at your place). Also sometime i go to a "sensei" who gives me leg massage or reflexologi using traditionally prepared oil. If im in a hurry or just don't have the mood to go to those two i'll go to a massage parlour nearby although sometime i will be disappointed. i felt like im being caressed more than massage.LOLZ. Chinese massage are the normal whole body massage using oil. Thai massage as far as i know doesn't use oil and involve flexing, pulling your joints (to make it lose), pressing onto part of your body or muscle, twisting and turning. Well since you mention thai oil massage, that's probably something extra and i'd love to find out.

Having a massage is really relaxing. My sister knows swedish massage which really great and relaxing every time so we don't need to go to spa to have massage.

Hello :D. There are a lot of massage types around. For constant pain the best I have tried is deep tissue massage, or if you are in for heat you could try being massaged with hot stones. The most common Thai massages are usually a combination of stretching in yoga like positions, while throwing warming oil all over you. These are pretty relaxing but, depending on what causes your back pain, its possible that they don't help you at all. When you go for the first time, they should make you fill some papers with options as to why you are there and what do you want, including if you have pains or allergies. Depending on your answers they should give you the best massage for you. In any case, you really should get one. Getting a good massage is like being born again, specially when you find the one technique that works the best for you. So yes, you should try it, in fact you should try different massages in different places during your life until you find one that makes you feel great. And it is worth it, I have been going twice a month to get all kind of massages and for the last 3 years I've been going to the same place. It's like the happiness your school teacher promised you if you tried hard. J/k, but it really makes being happier easier :D.

Professional massage does give some benefit to us. The common advantages that people know of is the ease of pain such as back pain. Also massage can decrease your tiredness or fatigue which gives you a more energetic day. My particular experience with massage is when I had severe pain on my back and also waist from some running competition, I couldn't walk for a few days which eventually my aunt sent someone who know how to massage to give me one. After that, the pain reduced quite an amount and I am able to walk the next day.
