Hi kukueye! It depends on what kind of job I have. In my case, I have a low-paying job, so if I have a million dollars, I'll quit and spend my time putting up a business. I'll invest the money to increase it and if business is so good I'll donate some of the money to charity to help the poor. I'll also give some to my siblings so that they too will have their own business and they can also help other people. Money is good, really if you spend it to help others.

I might quit my job, but I don't think I would quit working. It might even motivate me to work harder. With 1 million in my pocket most of main worries such as property and medical would have taken care of. Life would seems less stressful and more fun. Investing in properties is definitely a good choice. Might also invest in a art book shop.

If only it could happen. I sure would quit my job because i would be way too busy running the business i would buy. I would not buy renatl property because i work as a maid and i see a lot of destruction by renters when they move out.

I will invest the money I won to business and other things. If all my plans are successful, then that will be the time to quit my job. I think it's not practical to quit automatically once 1 million is already on hand. We never know what our future holds.

If i won a million dollars, i will quit the present job, and then find a job i like, when i do it better, i will quit again and search for another one.... Because if i have a million dollars, i should not work just make the ends meet, i can do more, not to consider if i lose work, i will have no income...Life is limited, but we afford a lot if we want a decent life. Sometimes, when i saw the guys are poor, i want give them help, but if i can't afford my family, how can i help others? Yes, if i won a million dollars, i will quit.

It depends whether you love your job or not. A million dollar will help a lot. Of course, it can help you pay bills, take care of your family, and pay other important expenses. You can travel, afford some luxuries, and buy many things you desire. A wise thing to do is to invest some of the money towards something useful.

What a good question. I wonder if I would keep blogging if I had a million dollars. Or maybe just downgrade to just one catch-all type blog instead of having multiple niches in hopes of earning a decent income. I do know that I would the cash payout and put a chunk into a nice interest earning savings account and let it sit there for emergencies. I would also be sure to pay my tithes. Another chunk would go to investing, buying a house, a new car, and putting my children through school. Hm. I may even go back to school myself.

If I won a million dollars, I guess I will quit my job. I would resign from my job without telling them that I have won a great sum of money. I would deposit a quarter of it for future use (child's education, retirement, etc.), give an eighth of it to charity, an eighth to my relatives & family members, maybe 3 to 5 million for house, car, lots. Then, I'd also invest some in stock market or lending small-scale. Further, I will put up a business. I want a business where I can help other people gain employment; where I can employ out-of-school youth, housewives, high school graduates, those who are less fortunate; to alleviate poverty in our place. I really wish I'd win a big sum of money; even half a million dollars will do.

Probably I'd first buy nursing home insurance, if they will still sell a policy for my 84 year old husband. If there is any money left, I'd split it between our two grown children. or, maybe, I'd just put it in the bank and sit on it. On second thought, I might just buy a share in the nursing home.

I do not believe I would quit but I would take a vacation and then help others in need. If my job would not want me to do then I would leave and start somewhere else or have some work for me...first I think some would change and so would friends for money controls some but yet people need to control their money in a smart way.

Given how much things cost these days, a million dollars really is not that much all things considered. Especially after the tax man has his hand in the pie and believe me, he will have a big chunk. It would obviously help with some things to say the very least and it would allow me to get a few things done, but I would not quit my day job over it. If anything else, it would be a good fund to really start saving a lot of things and to throw in the money market to collect a bit of interest. There are times where I make more money off of the money market interest than I would do with pretty much anything else. Of course, I can see the chances of me actually winning such a sum to be slim to none, no matter how nice it would be.

I think it is always great to have a job. I think I might not be able to sit idle in my life. I get bored when I get three to four days vacation. I think some people can sit without working while some people cannot sit idle without working. I think it depends upon people to people.

If you have a million after taxes and such, you put it in the bank, you get $2000 a month behind it which isn't bad. To say I'd stop working? well, that's a debatable question, if it was more than a million, perhaps ten, sure I'd shut it down. but of course, once folks know your business, it's a tough road to say NO. folks feel you should give and be generous and it's a mess. So, if I had it, I'd keep my mouth shut because for one, I don't want no one picking my blasted pocket and begging. not that I won't give, I would, but at my own discretion. so to a mill, NO. ten, oh yes.

No, I would not quite my job if I won a million dollars. I guess I am one of the fortunate people who have always loved my work. I am a therapist, but have not always been a therapist. As a Zen practitioner, I have learned the art of being mindful and meditative on whatever task I am doing, and therefore I gain a good degree of satisfaction.. When I was at school I often took on summer jobs, which I first I didn't like, but then I decided to do the best that I could - not for the boss or company but for my own satisfaction and that very same job that I disliked, I came to get satisfaction out of. I practice meditation every day, and that is how I have developed the mental acceptance of what I am doing in my life. I have a link to a description of my meditation in my profile for anybody who is interested. _Derek

If I had just won a million dollars, I would have a quick and dirty plan for how it would be spent. I would first pay/allot for taxes on the money. I would put a quarter of it in an individual retirement account, buy a home in this better housing market for $100,000 and save/spend the rest. I would not stop working. It is not enough to allow me to retire.

In my part of the world a million dollars is a heck of money because after conversion into the local currency it becomes a huge amount, something what the average citizen would like to have.I am retied and if i did get such a large sum i would certainly buy a couple of properties and rent them out. The rest i would put into fixed deposit and earn good interest and also keep some in the bank for expenses.I would be able to lead a very comfortable life without any hassles.Of course all this would be after deducting income tax as i would have to pay it year after year.

Definitely YES! I will quit my job and will start business right away. Well I will also give some portion to the less fortunate and charities but 1 million dollars is still a ton of cash, if you know how to spend it wisely and especially when you will invest it in business. Rather than being an employee why not just go to be a boss. Okay lets just say that I will not quit right away but I will still eventually.
