@ my Job I am Part -Time I decided to turn in a availability form because I had decided to continue my education. My boyfriend gets off @ in the afternoon and I don't want him to wait 2hrs. So in the beginning my schedule was set and I had no problems my manager and supervisor made it able that one of my co works who likes working in the afternoon worked for him great and that was awesome. I wanted to work mornings and that worked awesome for me. Let me remind you we both are part time. This continue for months.. Then my supervisor said it doesn't work and don't think it's good idea that we have to take a lunch when we are here if we are here for 5hrs. Well yeah I try to turn in a availability form because I wanted to continue my education and just my life outside of work didn't work. I try to explain that both to my supervisor and manager. They switch it for a week.. Then.. Try to out it back.. My manager wanted to talk to me and said that there is no availability form and that.. The branch hours are base on the branches requirements and needs. I told her I that I plan to continue my education and that should matter because it's not going to fit.. She looked at me and said sorry. So I told her so my life outside work doesn't matter she said.. We are not saying that I said well you are showing it. So I guess I can't continue my education because I bound to my job... Is this even legal???

Well, ya. I mean why would it be illegal? People do it all the time and there is nothing in the law that says you can''t. However, if you signed a legally binding contract and you agreed to stay with that company for a certian period of time then you have to stick to it or you will get sued.

Hey babytaffster, I didn't sign a contract with the company I just feel like they trying to give me. Hard time because I didn't take the full time position because I felt like it was a wrong move And in the end it wasn't worth. So yeah.. I they are just trying to get back at me and give me a hard time .. So everything I ask for or request is a issue. The Thing is my availability wasn't bad at all it was basically open to close I just ask to leave 130-1hr 45 mins before close. They will have someone there to back them up. ..

If you truly want to go back to school you will find classes that work around your schedule and take them. A company, in this case a bank, is in business to serve its customers, and hires employees who are available to do that. If they are not able to meet their peak demand because of working around you and your co worker, they naturally will schedule you to work during that peak demand. Unfortunately we are not always able to match our schedule to our family and partner. Is it legal? Probably, unless you have a signed contract that specifies what time you will work. The law requires that you be given so much break time for however much time you work on the clock. No getting around it. I do not know of any law anywhere that requires management to comply with educational or personal desires.

I gave me my availability and most it's always 1-2 before we close is my max and that is more then enough time for them to work with I am promise 26hrs a week and I gave me more then that. Yes banking, it's a job... My friend quit and so to me they are giving me a hard time.. Because she quit and left because ah foundation way better job. To be honest I see the reason why because if it's for the bank it's number one priority but for my family boyfriend and education or even if I have to get somethings done.. That is not important.... Try going to get stuff done on rush hour and be waiting hours at a time you will never get aging done your list will be longer. The job might be their career or life... What ever you want to call it for me it's just experience and a job.. I do my job and I do it very well. If anything they can only say good things about me. God doesn't like Ugly..
