I was sitting at my desk Friday night when I heard a cat yowling. I thought it was just another cat getting in some cats face, so I yelled "Knock it off!" a few times. But while it paused, it kept happening. I finally got up to find out what was going on. Daisy was standing over Flower who was kind of laying on the floor, her tail twitching and her left front paw up by her ear. Daisy ran off and I told Flower it was okay, but she didn't move. I walked over, and tried to pick her up, and she tried to run, but she couldn't move that paw from her ear. **this is where alarm bells go off in my head** I reached down and gently took her paw and discovered she had a claw stuck inside the ear! I pulled it out as gently as I could and she tried to run away, but I was concerned enough that I picked her up and carried her into the roomie's room. I got a q-tip and dabbed what looked like fresh blood - it was - and then cleaned around it. Then I grabbed the ear medicine out of the little fridge in the roomie's room and treated her ears. As a final insult, I then trimmed her nails. OMG! They were LONG and SHARP! So, now her nails are clipped, her ear treated, and we let her down - she didn't run far... I have to say, that's the weirdest thing I've ever seen a cat manage. How about you?
