Finally feel like we are getting somewhere...

I have been saying for months now actually more like over a year that my six year old son had hearing problems. He was having terrible violent temper tantrums, I assume due to the fact he was getting frustrated at not hearing us properly,he was also would not go anywhere that was too crowded so we would avoid crowds which meant he did miss out on things, he would cry and get very upset and refuse to go into school. Eventually it was picked up in a hearing test at school that there was problems so we made an appointment for his ears to be washed out which did not go very well. So we had to go back a few months later but then it turned out he had ear infections in both ears so they were unable to do anything with his ears at that time. But the audiologist gave me a letter for my sons teacher saying that he had to sit at the front of the class and be spoke to in a clear voice as he did not hear very well. About two months later we went back to the audiologist and they done another hearing test and his hearing has gone done drastically. So he is now off to the E.N.T clinic next month to see if he is going to have grommets I have my fingers crossed that this will help. In the meantime he is now wearing hearing aids and the only problem we have now is getting him to wear them and keep them in. Does your child wear hearing aids and do they keep them in? Has your child had grommets and did they work for them?

no sorry..but my child doesnt wear those grommets. But I may need to look into that because everytime she goes to the Dr, they say she has an ear infection. they always give her meds for it, but i jus hope its from laying down when she drinks her bottle. But it never dawned on me that something like this was goin on, so i should think of it that way. But I hope everything works out with the ear appts and everything becomes normal.

Thank you. I am hoping that his temper tantrums are down to his hearing problems and that there is not a underlying condition.
