Czech Republic bounced back from their trashing at the hands of Russia to beat Greece 2-1 and to bring their Euros back on track. The Czech got off to whirlwind start with Jiracek opening the scoring within 3 minutes. Pilar then doubled the score 3 minutes later as the Greek defence were shell shocked. But then the Czech game stepped back and they had a poor second half. Greece on the other hand became more and more aggressive and were helped with some buttery fingers of Petr Cech which gifted them a goal on the 53rd minute which opened up the match. But the Czech held on to win the game and secure all three points. Cheers! Ram

Another bad decision, 2 disallowed goals in two matches. Too bad for my team. Good thing that the other match between Russia and Poland ended as a draw, so now we need to win the match against Russia to qualify, as soon as we won't have another poor performance by Holebas in the first 30 minutes (how does he do that? he was poor in the first 30 minutes in both matches and the rest 60 minutes he was decent-good) and we have Sifakis as a GK well then we would probably won't concede a goal in the first minutes again :P

Yes, Greece has got all the bad decisions going against it. It was really sad as this could actually have just sent them out of the tournament now. Cheers! Ram

All three goals came from goalkeepers mistakes. It is case of poor careless Greece than a brilliant Czech. While this victory is much welcomed, Czech will not proceed far. Quarter finalist at best.

Yes, the Cech goal was a howler. I agree that I also do not see this Czech team going to far in the tournament. Cheers! Ram

Yup. They played good against a Greece side that started without two of their first choice defenders. They were disallowed a legal goal. Now the group is in an interesting scenario. It all depends on the last match of the Czech where they take on Poland. I strongly feel the Russians will top the group. The runners up will be decided by the Poland-czech match. To me Greece are virtually out of the tournament.

Yes, the refereeing was horrible. I could not understand why the goal was disallowed for offside. But this result now puts a lot of pressure on Poland as they need to win or at least draw this match at the minimum to have any chance to qualify. Cheers! Ram

Czech played well but Cech was responsible for the goal Greece scored. I don't think they can prevent the Poles from qualifying from their group but if they go for a draw in their last match, they may just scratch thru but that is the most they can do in Euro 2012.

It definitely was buttery fingers from Cech. Had the other Greek goal stood, then it would have really cost them their Euros!! Cheers! Ram
