i have not turned off my modem for internet for two days already

i don't know if it is bad that i have not turned off yet my internet connection. this is the second day . although i do turn off my computer. but i sometimes forget to unplug my modem. but when i woke i need to use the internet again so i didn't turn of the modem. later at night i would try to remember to unplug the modem. i think it may get overheat . but i think once a while two day use is not that bad.

to cool down the modem. at least once a day i believe. like at least 4 hours a day maybe.

Yeah today in Delaware in e united states it was a hot one haha..
Well yeah back to your discussion, I keep my modem on 24/7 hahaha.. Works just as good then when I first got it I honestly think it doesn't use that much electricity lol.. I have a 55 inch smasung led tv that thing not going to even hit 20 dollars a year just with regular use .. So don't think your modem is going to use much l. And especially if it's a energy star product .. :)

I never turn off my modem or router unless they need resetting. They both use very little power and never get more than slightly warm. It certainly does no harm not to switch them off and, in fact, the modems which connect servers like MyLot's to the Internet are NEVER turned off (unless there is a power failure) because that would mean that the site would be unavailable.
Likewise, it probably does little harm to switch a modem off. You certainly would save the power it uses but, on the other hand, equipment like a modem, which consists of printed circuits with components soldered in is best kept at a constant temperature. Frequently switching it off and on (and allowing it to cool in between) will shorten its life somewhat (though probably not significantly).

I never turn it off. Since I have an unlimited connection and also since I have a secure internet connection, I never turn my modem off. It is just when there is a power failure that my modem would take a rest too.

I mostly used to turn off both the computer and modem when my use is over. This is what is usually do. I do so because i can save my electricity bill and i do not need to pay for it. So i uses to turn of both of them but i do not used to remove the telephone line from my modem.
